Casio on a nato strap or original style?

I love nato strap in many reasons. However, but I see a lot of people here using nato strap on casio watches like G-Shock, F-91W, but for me doesn’t fit. I don't want to offend anyone, but it hurts my eyes as if they had put pepper in it. lol😭🤣😂 Don't get me wrong, everyone wears what they like, of course I respect it, but I would like to know if I'm the only one here who prefers an original Casio style (or another of rubber) and would never put a nato strap on it. And those who don't agree, ok, I'd like to see your point of view.

For me, a NATO is more about comfort and practicality, I think. A good NATO is a like an old pair of slippers - just so comfortable, and doesn't need breaking in of softening up like a lot of other straps. Plus, if a pin bar pings away, you don't lose your watch.

As you quite rightly said though, each to their own - it would be a boring hobby if we all liked the same thing. 🙃

Same for me it's just comfortable and I also think it looks good. Also adds some variation.

For sure NATO is pure comfort, safe and is very good in many ways. A watch content creator I like, TGV, likes to wear his G-Shock in a nato as well, but I can't use it in a Casio. For me it's like a design murder 🤣.

But we agree that wear a watch is personal, each one uses it as they want, I respect it. 👍

Me too 100%!!!

Casio with rubberstrap is how I wore them when I was just a kid and teenager. My recent buying spree of the plain Casio's and the G-Shocks are all original. My Citizen AW1365-19P and Seiko Series 5 SNZG07K1 are on NATO's. Uncomfortable original straps.

Me too. Nato is great for other watches, but I don't like it for resin casio. I've been wearing Casio since I was a kid, 100% original look.
Casio, as far as I know, has never released a resin watch with a nato strap for a reason.

·

For me, it depends on the watch-I have three G-Shocks converted to NATO straps, and four or five without.  Some work, some don't.

·

They are the perfect watch for a NATO in many ways. Light weight and comfortable. Looks aren't great but then again these little digitals look like toys what ever is on there.

·

Watch bands are for me primarily for comfort, not for looks. I am not a fan of bracelets and surely not of Casio's, and I am not a huge fan of Natos either, I'm more a leather strap guy. Finding leather straps suitable for a Casio is not that easy (or cost you more than the watch).

The result is that it has put me off buying Casios in the first place. Currently I have a Casio on order, and I already have the strap that I intend to replace its bracelet.

·

A Casio on it's original resin strap looks better, I admit but a Casio on a nato strap...hrmm, that comfort is just unmatched.

Starts looking for one of those adapters for my Casio MRW-200H.

·

Wear it how you like it most😌

·

I leave the band on my g shocks. The curved resin band is part of the protection. It's designed to prevent the dial from hitting the floor if dropped.

·

I put mine on a nato recently and I really dont like it 🤷🏻‍♂️ I needed a Casio band for my vintage AE-11W tho

I'm with you! Casio are designed for an iconic and classic style.

Some watches works perfectly with Nato, and they are called “strapaholic”, but Casio resin are not in my opinion.

·

NATO on a G is a perfect match, and I believe Casio themselves make the adapters.
On the others? Yet to try it, it’s fiddly, and they are small measurements so don’t have a bunch lying around.

G-Shock and other Casios were designed perfectly. They are classics!

This seems like a good place to ask…

anyone know where I can get replacement pins for the F91W?

So I can try a a nato on it eventually….

·

I voted “A” because some of these photos of F91W for eg look great with a nato conversion. I do think it rather depends on which particular Casio or G-Shock as to which way I’d go on this personally. Resin Casioaks have a great integrated look with the original band and I wouldn’t change those whereas I’d definitely consider nato for GX56 King as one example. It just depends I guess 🍻

Inspired by this discussion I’ve stuck my Royale on a nato 👍

I knew I should delete this poll! 😂🤣😂

I already found out that I'm not alone, but it seems that it's not influencing people well. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Oh no, it’s started, the dark side beckons!

Can't go wrong with something called #godtier .

Either way is fine by me. In fact, I’ve been enjoying my W-217H on a woven elastic loop band. Super comfortable; especially while sleeping.

I tried my old (no longer have it) MRW200 on a Bond Nato for a while. But soon tired of it. I guess I just like to strap on a bit rubber 🤒

As someone above said... It would be a boring world if we all had the same tastes.

·

Actually, i should add , a Nato on a Casio or G-Shock has to be 20mm via adapter or modification. 18mm strap is just wrong wrong wrong 😮

I respect other people's opinion, no problem. But to me, aesthetically Nato strap doesn't match Casio's resin watches, especially the G-Shock because there is no harmony between them. It's like playing an instrument out of tune, where the notes don't have harmony. Unless I'm mistaken, Casio never originally released a G-Shock on a Nato strap.
