New Field Watch

I am looking for a new field watch simply for the field Watch look. I have a Timex Expedition as the tried and true but am looking at get something better. Currently between the Hamilton Khaki Field and the Boldr Venture. Let me know of any other options you think I should consider!!

I always liked the Boldr Ventures. They're at the max I would spend for an NH35 watch, but a lot of care and capability go into these watches. I like their water ratings and even though I'm not a fan of the crown placement, I'm definitely willing to overlook it for its design, and value.

Go for Hamilton for the legacy, go for Boldr for a true beater, I suppose. Or you can go for the CWC watch for the post Rolex military watch feel.

I believe the Hamilton Khaki Field 38mm on a leather strap is the best field watch on the market. If you shop around you can also find it at a great price. Years ago I flipped the ETA 2824 version and I still kick myself for having done it.

Hamilton is the standard. That can be good or bad depending on what you are going for. There are some good looking Seiko 5s that don’t cost much.

Depending on your budget (about $2000), Longines has a couple really great ones:

You may want to check out Vaer. They have a good selection of both mechanical and quartz models:

I second this! Vaer offers the look and specs without paying extra for a name.

I’m into field watches too. I was super impressed with the Bulova Hack watch and depending on which version you look at, it may even help out a veteran. https://youtu.be/kYb4c5kdJZQ

I'm a Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical bloke. It seems to be the standard against which others are measured in this segment.

Not cheap however compared to some of the alternatives.

I second the Vaer field watches as an affordable and very capable option?

·

I second the Hamilton and for another watch that also has some authentic history, check out the Benrus DTU-2A and the 3061.  I personally am looking at the 3061 because it was in Bullitt (worn by Mr. McQueen himself).  I am also looking at the Khaki Field and the Seiko Alpinist (from Japan so it is in the same price ballpark with the strong dollar).
