The recent to and fro between Shakira and Pique on whether one of them “traded a rolex for a casio” got me thinking. I do actually own a Rolex Submariner that was passed down to me from my Dad, and I do have a list of digital watch grails, inclusive of Casio. Would I ever consider trading in my own Rolex for a Casio, or indeed any other digital watches, and what would they be? These are my selections - what I consider to be the best digital watches - covering Casio, Omega Swiss Digitals, Seiko, Timex and even a more obscure sailing LCD watch, as well as some other classics. Tempting….
Curious to know what your lists would be or whether you would ever consider selling a Rolex to fund your digital watch collecting demon?
My name is Gordon and I run a YouTube channel focused largely on digital, electronic and vintage watch history. Link below!
Thats crazy, i'll never do that. If i have a submariner of course lol
You have listed the only instance in which I would not encourage liquidating a Rollie. A life has to be at risk before heirloom items get sold off.
Otherwise, milk that cash cow without delay!

Ha ha I’ll totally accept the my digital watch obsession is unhealthy. Don’t worry - I won’t be selling - more of a device to think about all the watches I could have if I did!

That’s the only factor stopping me! The watch that means more is my seiko Willard 6105-8110 which my dad used when he was diving at uni (complete with water damage). Never getting sold!
I'd trade my Casios for a Shakira.
