I figured as much when I first heard of the big reveal dropping today.

Meh

Another DH chrono

Too big

Difficult to read overlapping subdials

Dial busier than the mall the day before Xmas.

another meh for good measure.

Size works for me but understand what you saying about the busy dial but I think most chronographs are busy aren’t they

·

You had me at busy dial chrono but I like the non-"Evil Panda" version better.

No issues with the width, which is spot on for me. I’m surprised by the thickness though. Pretty beefy for a quartz movement, even for a chronograph. I have a Seiko VK63 (mechaquartz) powered chrono at 12mm thick. I actually like the all black subdial on this. Very vintage, and while I agree it may be hard to work out the chronograph, it seems very legible for telling time. Many chronos sacrifice time legibility for chrono legibility, and I don’t find myself using the chrono complication very often.

Not this busy. This has indices for 3-6-9 placed inside the subdials which are  overlapped by a telemeter scale with subdials overlapping the minute track for good measure.

·

This is an absolute beauty. Would've loved to see a Seiko mecha-quartz over the Miyota 6S20 but still, great value watch.

·

Too busy, and the 3, 6, and 9 numerals are weird - they look like they belong but don’t.

I don’t wish to be the grumpy one, but I can‘t help it.

To each his own. I like it but I like old Breitlings and the new Omega Chronoscope too.  I agree with you on the indices placed inside the subdials (which neither of the modern watches below have but the reference 1940s watch Dan Henry homaged does). I wonder what watch would win the busiest dial competition (and at what point even I would say too much).

It looks good, but my customer service experience with Dan Henry was very bad in the past, so I will never buy another watch from them.

You can’t just leave that hanging in the air…

Please elaborate! I’ve had nothing but wonderful service from them and pleasant DM conversations with Dan on Instagram

·

Usually a fan of vintage-inspired chronos but this doesn’t click with me. Something about the registers and not a huge fan of cathedral hands. Glad it’s making some folks excited tho!

·

looks overweight and busy.

·

Love the vintage looking hands, but the dial is just way too busy, not for me.

·

DH makes good looking vintage inspired pieces.  I think this looks good.  They are priced fairly for the quality.  I think the Evil Panda looks a little better than the Panda.

My DH 1964 had a printing defect on a numeral of the dial, I noticed this a couple of months after the 1 year warranty had expired.

I contacted DH and they said they would charge me $80 to replace the full dial and hands. I didn't mention the hands in my email to DH, and the picture I sent them was just a shot pointing at the printing defect on the numeral.

I told them that even though the warranty had expired, it was a factory defect on the printing of the dial, and I was hoping they could give me an alternative.

DH never got back to me.

On the other hand, when something similar happened to me with another microbrand, I contacted them after the warranty was expired too, and they offered me a solution at no cost.

I know that the warranty period was expired in both cases and what that means, but at least DH should have sent me a reply and try to offer me a better solution.

So no more DHs for me.

I’m not into watches with some dudes full name on the dial. It’s weird, but I’d wear a ‘Ward,’ but never a Christopher Ward. I’d wear a ‘Henry,’ but not a Dan Henry. 🤷‍♂️ Its not rational lol

As to the dial on this one. Way too overthought and overworked. 24h numbers, 3,6,9 and the date could be ditched to make it cleaner, but what do I know? 😊

No, it wasn’t. It was very normal.

So did the defect appear after a year like a discolouration? Or did it take you a year to notice something was off?

Not sure. I was very disappointed that they didn't even reply to my second email. I was not expecting any compensation, just a proper way to address my issue.

Anyways, I'm very strict with customer service as it's an area in which I have a good amount of experience in.

DH offers some really beautiful designs, so it was a disappointing experience for me.

Do you have any experience in customer service?

Cause I do, a good amount actually, and in different countries.

You always need to keep your customer as happy as possible to be able to get more profit from that customer in the future (in direct sales or as a recommendation to other potential customers).

Not getting back to any customer complaints is never the way to go, that's customer service 101.

I apologize if I sounded too harsh before, I always like to keep it positive! I just can't stand poor customer service...

I might have to take this back - I’ve been looking at the all black version again and realised why it looked familiar. I am so late to the party in that its an homage to the Jardur Bezelmeter, as proven by @Rocketfan. The all black is the one - I still think the raised numerals rather than printed is a little suspect, but I think they kind of nailed the Jardur pretty well. Hmm… surprising from me, I’m usually pretty good at first impressions, but I’ve backtracked.

I get Breitling and Breguet vibes. Yeah there's a lot going on, but I kind of like it!
