Afternoon watch switch up - the 2021 Padi special edition Samurai

I’m sure many of you guys have switched watches once or twice within the day.  The blue Willard SPB183J1 is my all time favorite Seiko, this PadI Samurai SRPG21K1 comes in at a very close second.  The Samurai is a bit bigger than the Willard in diameter and a bit taller but it wears almost as comfortable as the Willard.  It’s that awesome Seiko magic with that short lug-to-lug.  🪄

I’ve been a watch enthusiast for as long as I can remember.  I’ve always recommended any Seiko Diver’s watch as a great first mechanical watch for newbies.  For some reason it was only last year that I finally decided to pull the trigger to buy the first Seiko in my collection.

This is a special watch for me because this Padi Samurai is the first mechanical watch I bought with my own money.  I’m thankful and blessed to have received my first few watches as gifts or pieces passed down to me from my Dad’s collection.  But, you guys know that special feeling when you sign your name on the warranty card.   This is never leaving my collection, if I do have children in the future this would be the first watch I would pass down to the next generation.

Amazing watch. I just love the angles on the Samurai. Shame it would be too big for me, but it looks excellent on you 👍

Padi Samurai looks great. I love the Padi blue on the bezel! have considered one of these myself. Personnel question. What's your wrist size ? like many its hard to gauge fit when considering these watches.

Hopefully Santa is bringing one for me

Thank you!  Does it still wear big on you even with the short lug-to-lug?  I agree with you on the sharp angles of the case - I also love the sword hands shark teeth markers 😎

Beginning to like the Samurai very much ... wears surprisingly comfortable on the wrist. Was fortunate to be gifted one two weeks ago. :)

Wouldn't it be great if Seiko made a mini Samurai? 😀 I think a 38mm Samurai would look great!

Thank you, I agree, I love the globe on the dial too 👍

Great watch, us smaller guys can only admire from a distance.

Briefly owned the Limited Edition Dawn Grey but the case didn't sit well on my wrist so I sold it. 😔

I own that exact watch. Currently have it up on Chrono24 for the same reason as a few others, just too big for my skinny wrist. I wish it wasn't, as it is a great watch.

Hard to find as many options in a 39-40mm dive watch.

I too switch watches throughout the day as there's just too much fun to be had! I really admire the Samurai but haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. I might have done it on the version @IanCognito posted if I saw it... One day I will, and I think it will be a great day.
