@playboyheafner had a great post asking, “What’s the trend in 2022 that leaves a bad taste in your mouth?”
And, like, at least 50% of the comments said, “Purple dials”!!!
What’s not to like about purple dials? They’re awesome! It gives the watch a pop of color. It’s fun. And, well, purple is the color of royalty, after all - so, you know, if you like the idea of despotic rule and hemophilia due to genetic bottlenecks as a result of in-breeding amongst an insular group, then purple is definitely for you!
@BRSEvolve has produced the XX121 watch. Available in black and purple dial.
https://www.bladerunnerssystems.com/collections/gear/products/xenomorph-xx121
Black will run you $189.99 and purple costs $215.99
So, I got the purple!
The watch is solid as a rock! The bracelet is sturdy. Everything about the watch screams sturdy!
Once upon a time, I owned the Christopher Ward C65 Trident...
Was it a good watch? Sure. Was it sturdy? Sure. Was it worth the $795? Sure. I guess. Maybe? I mean, it was a nice watch, don’t get me wrong. But, in the face of something like the XX121 in purple? F*ck no, the CW C65 Trident is not worth it! Which of the two watches would I rather have? Definitely the XX121 in purple.
Where does the XX121 fall short? For me, the bracelet sizing. I have a 17-cm wrist, and I’ve taken out all the removable links (at least I think I have - but, then again, I have the mechanical aptitude of a mollusk), and the bracelet only just barely fits me. If I haven’t done something wrong, there aren’t enough removable links for a wrist smaller than 17-cm. Ultimately, it’s fine for me no matter what, because I have like 80 random straps, so whatever. But, just so you know.
There should be an advertising campaign for the XX121: "@BRSEvolve XX121… purple is the new green"
Now, you gonna keep hating on purple? Or are you gonna join the rest of us enlightened folks who love despotism and endogamy?

Hemophilia ftw!
i imagine that someone with purple dial watch also has a room that look like this
Is this purple?
I like color, so yeah rock the purple. I am really interested in the Tsao, a great purple.
Purple was the royal color because it was rare. The dyes were derived from mollusk shells. It long pre-dates Habsburg in-breeding.

I love this watch. I would totally rock this.

Damn! What year is that???
The Tsao looks pretty awesome.
On their site, they say that it's got a MD-1 movement. It can't be an in-house movement, right? Do you know what it's based on?
As a hemophiliac, I endorse purple!
I would absolutely do purple, but would have to be the right shade, like this Fears...
Here is my issue with purple (or any funky color for that matter). It typically can't be your every day wear. It has to be something you only pull out in certain circumstances or with certain outfits. Therefore, its probably better served for a more affordable watch to fill that niche. I doubt that I would choose the AP Black Panther as my only purple watch in the collection. 😂

The Seiko is from 1974. The dial really lights up outside.
Tsao is based on an ETA 2824 I believe. I think that they just tinker with it a bit.
Wait, aren't you the one who no longer cares about movements? In that case it was entirely developed in Baltimore, Maryland, the Grenchen of the Atlantic Seaboard.
I could cope.
I love this watch. I would totally rock this.
It's their "Jubilee" watch! You are a fan of despotism and hemophilia!!!
Kinda off topic, but not really... have you ever watched any of "The Crown" on Netflix? Craziness! The British created the absolute worst form of Reality TV, before Reality TV even was a thing! I mean, on Big Brother, you get stuck into a house, with cameras on you 24/7, everyone watching everything you do, and then publishing it all in tabloids, to the point where every day you're one headline away from simply taking a bottle full of Tylenol in the hopes of getting yourself "written out of the script."
I mean, from what I can gather, the Royal Family is just the British version of this...

That Seiko rocks. Stop buying new watches. In my mind, this is you...
You have only two roles in life: 1) To make sarcastic comments, and 2) to wear vintage.
And, no, I was asking about their movement, because if it were in-house, then I'd hate on them. If it's based on the ETA, then they're okay in my book.

My friend, you been talking about Fears ever since this site launched! Which forces the obligatory...
you can rock them if you think you can.
:)

What!? Purple is awesome!
I am kinda disappointed.... More than 120 answers and nobody mentioned this Purple awesomeness:
Neither this beauty:
So here it is...
New king seiko in purple, I can see myself wearing that one in summer

Those a-holes released that model AFTER I got my SPB279, otherwise, that's totally the one I would have gotten!
Serious point here, because I feel this is the internet in a nutshell. You don't like something, everyone accuses you of "hating" it. You even see people positioning their argument by accusing everyone of not thinking like they are as being the extreme opposite "haters". This is very poor, binary, childish reasoning.
I wouldn't wear a purple watch, but do I "hate" them? No. Do I think little of people who choose to wear them? No. It's not for me, that's all.
Yes. I'm waiting to see this one in the metal https://www.omegawatches.com/en-au/watch-omega-seamaster-aqua-terra-150m-co-axial-master-chronometer-34-mm-22010342010002
My daughter would commit regicide for a purple Pokémon
I kinda dig it as well 🤔
Jdm only right I think I was going to buy some but wasn’t sure of the site.
I like purple watches, I have a lavender Fitbit when I was working out lol…
My first build.

LOL! This is my wife's office in our home. Yep, even a purple handbag. 💜 She's not purple all the time but this was what she wanted in her office. The handbag is one of many. I "invest" in her handbags because I often hear "Why do you need so many watches?" Notice her showing off the red version of the same bag wearing my rose gold Radiomir. Of course she didn't ask to borrow it LOL!
