Returning as a Newbie!
Hi,
Excited to meet you all. I first became interested in watches as a teenager in the 1970's / 80's and this passion continued until the 2000's, although with a young family and financial commitments, there was no room for much actual collecting, let alone "luxury watches"! The interest gave way to collecting "other things" after that, until my wife gave me a JLC Master Control Calendar for our anniversary. Little did we know that this would reignite my dormant passion, and open the floodgates to full-time research (the joy of having free time in retirement), meet-ups, dealings and yes, collecting!
I am very fortunate that my wife shares this completely with me, and therefore every watch (except the JLC she gifted) is jointly shared by us (even though most of them are too large for her to wear).
I love that this site is non-judgemental, inclusive (of all types of collectors and all types of watches) and that posters here are generous with their comments and encouragement!

Welcome to WC. That’s a beautiful watch, and a fantastic gift. It’s great that you and your wife share watches, I’m a little jealous. My wife is understanding, but doesn’t really get my desire to have so many watches. Enjoy.

Thanks @thekris ! I am not sure having my wife who is just as passionate about watches is a good thing .... that means there are no brakes, and you can easily be egged on by each other.....😜
