Today, I received this beautiful split-seconds chronograph, winner in 2012 of the GPHG award for the sports category. The sunburst brown dial is difficult to capture on camera, but the yellow chronograph hand really pops, with the surprise split-seconds hand emerging in white from underneath. The display caseback shows off Richard and Maria Habring's technical mastery and artistry.
Very handsome, congratulations. Not a brand that gets a lot of coverage - will you post a review?
Thanks @DixonSteele! Yes, Habring2 is very under-appreciated. It's highly praised among those who are in the know, but unknown to virtually everyone else outside. I will review it once I have had a feel for the watch. I have an Erwin too, which has a deadbeat seconds, and it always makes me smile to look at it.
Wow! Amazing watch!!!
Thank you @HotWatchChick69! The rattrapante complication is an engineering marvel to behold.
That’s stunning 🤩
I’m a no chrono guy, it’s too many holes in a watch case for water based me … but I love it!
Pics not macro but I can see the finishing even from a distance. I imagine you’ll never see another like it in the wild, it’s a sleeper and very unique. 👌🍻

Thank you! I am an oldie with limited photography skills… may have to learn this if I am to post more photos here😁.
Yes, I love the sleepers, the rare and the interesting. Still very much evolving and learning.

Although not actually a limited edition, only 20 are thought to have been made before the next iteration (the Doppel 3) replaced it. As there were 3 dial colours produced, it is likely that less than 10 of this particular one in brown was produced. So yes @Fieldwalker it is highly unlikely that I will see another one in the wild!
Amazing, I love it. I am a fan of Habring2 too. Waiting for 3 Habring2 now.

Really? Which ones? I am looking at a Foudrayante next. I was initially getting the new 38 Doppel but then really loved the brown colour and yellow split-seconds hand on this one.

Felix and Erwin Shellman 50th and Pilot Erwin. I will put the pictures on as soon as they are here. I love the Dopple too, maybe next.
