Okay hear me out… I saw the new #cartier tank francaise models. The large model has an automatic movement. HOWEVER, it is not the 1847MC (used in the Tank Must XL for example). The reviews out there show this watch is using a different caliber. The reviews State this way uses a caliber 1853, based upon a Sellita movement. Not MC. So considering the Tank Must XL with this MC movement (I may add keeps great time in my experience) is less than than the $5,500 for this new Française, my question is…WTF are you thinking, Cartier?
They’ll be a technical reason I would think - like the MC is too big.
i quite like the look of this new one - though I’d get the mid sized quartz.
Physical content and price rarely have a direct connection in luxury products. I think the price is derived more from an estimation of who will buy this and what would they spend, rather than a sum of the value of its parts.
Cartier CHONK.
I’ve just never liked Tanks or Reversos on bracelets
