My #montblanc 1858 small seconds came with a gorgeous (and comfortable) mesh bracelet. But that piece has lived on a series of soft leather straps for most of its life thus far. Last night, I realized that I had spare 24mm heavy duty spring bars laying around. The #cartier Tank XL has a width of 23mm. The mesh bracelet is 22mm. So, the spring bars are actually 1mm beyond what is necessary to secure to the lug width (as the springs recess down on each side and fit snug). The bracelet itself has 0.5mm of “play” side to side. But, it feels a bit vintage honestly (the play). And it feels very secure. (Again, no “play” in the spring bars themselves.) 🤞 🍻
