Do you have a favorite band/strap material?

I seem to gravitate toward metal bracelets as the most comfortable (as long as they’re well fitted).

Not gonna vote here. It just depends! It’s hard to beat a well made bracelet, but not all bracelets are well made, even expensive ones. NATO and silicon straps, like leather straps, can be cheap and stiff or strong and supple.

Certain watches lend themselves to certain materials, styles, and colors as well, and no matter how great the strap, it just won’t work.

Barton canvas straps are so comfortable - so I have been pretty into those for just banging around with

In practice I probably use textile more, but in theory leather. Somebody on here keeps recommending cat and dog leather, which I have not yet wittingly tried.

I'm really enjoying the silicone/rubber straps on my watches. I just find them very versatile and comfortable.

I love a good-fitting and well-made metal bracelet, but there are so many that are uncomfortable on my wrist. The two big exceptions to this is my two-tone Rolex Oyster for the Datejust and, most surprisingly, is the cheap folded-links bracelet that came on my Casio AE-1200WHD World Time - I can't tell the watch is on my wrist!

I don't have one preference. I like to match the strap to a watch and this can lead to any of the listed options. If pushed, I'll admit that I don't like metal link bracelets a lot, but I have no issue with metal mesh and that I prefer rubber and FKM to silicone.

I don't think he is recommending them, and beside what are you going to do with the rest of the animal once you used it for a watch strap? It's not like you can zip it back into a replacement fur coat.

Metal bracelet would be uncontested but the ones that taper nicely, are well finished and have on the fly adjustments are hard to come by.

Horween Chromexcel never disappoints.

Actually my favorite material is E. Sailcloth. Since it is not in the choices, I voted rubber/silicone. My second preference. 😉
