To bund, or not to bund….

It’s a love-hate! Always has been. So which side are you on

I like a bund! But like any strap, there's some pairings that work well for me and others that totally don't.

I have to wonder how many "no" votes will purely be a reaction to the picture of the casio, since that's all that shows up in the endless-scroll mode.

Bund straps look really cool on vintage watches, especially on chronograph & pilot watches.

I love bunds.

But not on that Casio. Bad example.

I get it. Different strokes. I like the weird combos. I get a lot more mileage out of my watches that way. Had the same Casio on a tan ostrich a few weeks ago. Looking like it fell out of the late 70s.

@robbery

You could be right. I suspect that the thumbnail is skewing the result. Which in itself offers an insight into the bund discussion.

Perhaps those who like a bund are more into the authentic, traditional aspects of them than they are into more anachronistic applications.

Chose A…mainly because picture B was too much for me…

Bund straps work great, in certain circumstances, different strokes for different folks

Forgive me! What is it for? Avoiding the touch of metal?

That's an interesting theory. To me, both of those watches are anachronistic choices for a bund strap, but anachronism can be a lot of fun. My personal objection to the casio pairing is actually that I think the grey color of the leather clashes with the grey color of the case, which is a different hue of grey. I think it would look cracking on a black bund. Just my 2 cents

Originally it was designed for military personnel. The design served several functions. Protection from extreme temperatures, comfort, shock absorption, and security. Much like modern NATOs if a spring bar failed the bund design would keep the watch from falling off.
