SEIKO WOES - WHAT'S THE BEST AROUND £100 AUTO WATCH??!!

I'm looking to get into my first auto, I'm UK based so our market is pretty tough for getting affordable watches from my experience. Import tax is tricky too. Please comment recommendations!

any of the seiko srph, srpg or srpe would be good. or an orient bambino, symphony, maestro, mako and ray.

I am not sure how available they are in the UK, but the Seiko 5s you have pictured would both be great selections for a first automatic watch. There will be a difference in price on them, as the newer Seiko 5 SRPs are almost double the price of the discontinued Seiko 5 SNKs. You might also look at Orient; there are several different styles that would be between £100 and £150; the Bambino, the Ray II, the Mako II, the Maestro, and others.

Thanks a bunch I'm checking them out! I'm liking these orient divers but theyre so confusing with sizes, they range from 40 to 44. I saw this red bezel model but its too big at 44mm for my smaller wrist.

You and @unholy have reminded me of Orient's offerings but I just get so confused with the case sizes. I am a huge fan of those open heart models but can never find a right size, colour and case shape and theyre pretty hard to find online.

Honestly if I didn't already own my black Casio Submariner I'd be all over one of those black orient diver they're phenomenal for the money.

Oooh, I haven’t seen that first one before. I like it. The shape reminds me of the Yema Wristmaster Traveller.

Orient Automatic RA-AR0004S10B Contemporary Watch • EAN: 4942715013585 • Watch.co.uk

I came across this model a few months ago but I can't figure out all the technical differences and sizes between all the open heart models. This is a 41mm which would definitely work for me.

Probably all referencing the AP Royal Oak and/or the Patek Philippe Nautilus, lol. But they are still doing it their own way. Lucky for lots of people like me who are never going to spend for one of those two.

Also, fwiw, Maen is getting in that same game with the Manhattan 37 (photo source).

This comes in at 41mm I think this is pretty high on my list now

Creation Watches still has a decent stock of discontinued Seiko 5 autos at really good prices. I think I paid $89 USD for this one.

Happy hunting! This one is the SNK601, and I believe the case size is 37mm - pretty small by today’s standards, but I dig it.
