Hey, Everyone!

Glad to be here! Seems like a fantastic community! Thought I'd share a quick SOTC to get me started!

  • Top Box: Regular Rotation Pieces -- The Mido Oceanstar 200C, Tissot PRX, Bulova Lunar Pilot, and  Casio Oceanus T200 get a lot of love.
  • In The Drawer: Sentimental and Occasional Wear -- Highlights include my first mechanical watch, an Orient Ray, and an Original Grain Chronograph that was the first gift my wife ever gave me when we were dating. Toss in a some Steinharts, a modded Casioak, a Rotary JLC lookalike, and an ST1901 powered Sugess, to round out the collection.
  • Second Box: Beaters -- Some homages, a Casio, a Vostok, and a pair of Ecodrives 💪

Great collection. You’ve covered a lot of bases there.

Thanks! The Oceanus has gotten a good bit of wrist time lately. Super nice to have an option that’s light, comfortable, and always accurate. It’s a stunner in person too.

Love that Mido regulator (maybe not the right technical term).

Thanks! My attempt at adding a separated seconds dress piece like a Lange 1, without having to sell my house, cars, dog, kidney... lol 💸

Haha right on! Could I trouble you for the reference? I didn't see it listed in the post.

Awesome! Unfortunately, that Hammy has since moved on from my collection, but it was a Broadway Day Date Ref. H43515135 🍻

Awesome. Hey I also meant to ask you. Have you tried any rubber/leather strap with your Ocean Star. I have the exact same one but I'm hesitant to buy a new strap as the blue dial might make it hard for colors to match

I actually really love the stock bracelet, it’s pretty fantastic (except for the polished center links) but I’ve definitely considered some other options. I tried it out on a tan cross-stitched leather strap which looked meh, and have almost pulled the trigger on a nice blue sailcloth with white stitching, but I had the same reservations about matching the shade of blue. Honestly though, this summer it’s been living on a Miltat satin mesh bracelet; super breathable and comfortable.
