Do You Have a “Slippers” Watch?

Does anyone else pull a Mr. Rodgers and change into a cheap beater watch when they get home from work? If so, what’s your go-to for doing dishes, playing with the kids, etc…?

Most days, I grab this Tandorio Hamilton homage or my Casio W-217H.

I used to when I worked. I'm retired now and I pick out the night before what's on my wrist when I wake up lol! My wife rolls her eyes at me. It's the other woman in the room lol my watch.

So I post on WRUW daily what's on my wrist.

Enjoy that watch!

Cheers!

I absolutely dig the LP on that red nato! Super unique!

Good idea, I think I'm going to repurpose my Hamilton Khaki Field and place it on a rubber strap for home wear. It's not getting much wear lately with some newer additions taking my attention.

I did the reverse Mr.Rogers today. I wore my nicest watch while at home, then put on my less expensive one when I went out. Plot twist, I work from home.

Wifely eye rolling is a sign of affection.  When you catch her doing it, the proper response is “I love you too, Babe”.

If my watch has poor water resistance (30-50m), which is common in my dress or casual watches, I change it up for my Q&Q or my GA-B2100 when I get home to give dinner and bath to my daughter. Plus she absolutely loves my G-Shock

That's great advice! Lol

Actually, my practice is the complete opposite.  I wear my more "expendable" watches at work.  I fear the scratches and dings that may occur when out and about.  When I get home, I put on my best watches so I can just admire them without the worry.

This is my slippers watch: Timex Annual Calendar Automatic. Got it for about 50USD last month.

They made this about ten years ago I think. It’s certainly outdated now as the year only goes up to 2021. It’s now two years behind and will never be able to catch up. The year, month, date, 24 hour markers are all too small to read anyway so I don’t even bother updating them.

100m water resist means it’s good for cooking, washing the dishes and showering with. Changed the bracelet with rubber and these days I even take it to the gym.
