I was wondering, since a friend mentioned that a watch we were talking about was ‘classy’, what people had in their mind when talking about refinement and elegance in the watch ownership experience.

Patek Philippe Calatrava. May be eclipsed technically by others, but the balance of branding, pedigree and simplicity of design just quietly exudes class.
I don't know if it's the classiest but i think it's one of the best looking for my preferences.
I like an Omega Auqaterra with a black dial if I'm honest when I think classy.
At least that's as classy as I would ever get I think. I'm a tool watch kind of guy.
OK, to be honest that is wonderful.
For me, when I think of classy, my knee jerk is PP. Not that other manufacturers don't have beautifully elegant timepieces.
I don't think of RM, Audemars Piguet or anything else that has become synonymous with people with more money than sense.
That said, I always liked the IWC Portugieser line and felt that was quite a stealthy and handsome, attractive piece.

Muhle ProMare Go. Very understated!
