Do you like watches without hour markers?

Earlier I read an article about Boldr's new Safari Vogelkop Superb. Its design is inspired by the Vogelkop Superb Bird-of-Paradise. https://wordlesstech.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/The-Vogelkop-Superb-Bird-of-Paradise-1.jpg I've seen lots of watches like this and the Movado next to it, with no hour markers. In the case of the Boldr, it also has a 120-click rotating bezel with no markers other than the one at 12:00. I personally don't understand the point of these. They seem to be virtually useless as actual time telling devices and to be more for show. I don't like to guestimate what time it is. Why put movements in them at all?

I agree. I’ve never understood the point of these. To each their own, of course. But to me, why bother?

Whether you like the design or not is a personal preference, but to say you can't tell the time is asinine. It's very clear from both pictures above that the time is 10:10. Any watch fanatic should have no issue telling where the hands are pointing, even without markers.

In my opinion, these are nothing more than expensive, watch-shaped wrist coverings.

They are all fashion watches in my mind.

I'm also not smart enough to remember where the hour markers should be on a watch most of the time anyways 😂. Trying to decide whether it's 8:37 or 8:40 in the morning when I'm half asleep.

Minute markers, no hour markers, and it's still 10 past 10 (or today: probably 10 past 11 because the clocks go 1h forward in the UK and the watches need adjusting).

If you are used to analogue watches you can still tell the time: simply by the angles of the hands relative to the crown, the logo, and in this case: the case shape. Reading the precise minute is compromised by those kind of dials, I grant you that. Expensive? This is yours for a tenner.

Although I think the look is a little bit pretentious (?) I quite like it. I like anything that's done for the sake of being done, which is why I'm going to create a watch without hands or without a case. New microbrand? Perhaps.
