Who Said Only 'Expensive' Means 'Good'?

I have spent lot of time collecting, wearing, obsessing, watching and reading about watches in my life - and now I am at that point in my collection where I genuinely dont care about being a mouthpiece or free advertising only for multi-billion dollar watch brands - Instead, if I like something in terms of quality, looks, dial (above all) and design I simply go for it regardless of whether that watch is called "AliExpress brand" or whatever.

Just look at this very obvious Paul Newman Daytona homage by Pagani Design. What a gorgeous looking watch that literally ticks all the right boxes not only in looks or design (as its not theirs but Rolex) but also in terms of material, quality, finishing and PRICE!!!!!! I mean I know Rolex Daytona is a classic - I know its exquisite but let's face it - that particular vintage panda from rolex is out of reach for almost everyone here - but as a watch, is it really 1000 fold better than this 75 dollars Pagani? May be yes, may be no - I dont know - I love this and highly recommend anyone to try PD - Its one of the better Chinese watches with genuinely and surprisingly great quality and performance

Expensive does not mean better, especially now. You are buying the heritage and a part of history. Obviously, many buy a Rolex or a luxury item for the exclusivity. I personally despise Pagani for how they steal marketing material from people and companies. To me, that's garbage. They can afford a team to do a quick photoshop vs actually stealing.

I'm sure the watches are great, but many times I've seen them take down posts that they stole from TEDDY and put a Pagani logo on, or use their own customers' content without asking for permission. I'd rather get a San Martin.

Looks great

Pagani needs to work in their lume

though.

100% agreed, just bought this on Amazon today for $138 including tax. I can鈥檛 afford a 鈥楩ifty Fathoms鈥 for 13K, now no way near is this even close to being comparable to an actual Fifty Fathoms in terms of heritage or quality, but I am not looking for that and I simply don鈥檛 care because I just like the design, for that price the specs look hell of a value proposition to me so I went ahead and got myself mine. I am just hoping the build quality is good(for the price) and the bezel action is descent. Because I am a Bezelcoholic(that鈥檚 not even a freaking word but let me pass on that, Lol).

Then rhey would be a great homage brand. I have multiple Paganis and the lume is the only bad thing about them. I have a BB58 homage, screw links and domed sapphire, the lot. But the lume is the weakest value proposition of the brand. Doesn鈥檛 mean I won鈥檛 buy another in the future, though.

I鈥檓 mulling over getting the PD Explorer II polar dial. Hoping it鈥檒l maybe save me the about 10K price for the real deal, not to mention the indeterminable wait for the real deal! Sometimes an homage watch will do that for me鈥ometimes not.

Looks amazing

I bought a similar PD in order to mod the watch a little. The VK63 movement is fun, inexpensive, and can take quite a bit of abuse. (Mine has gone through three handsets.) The only issue I had with the watch was the bracelet, that was somewhat sharp-edged, and couldn't get adjusted to my liking. Always makes me realize how nice it is to wear a light quartz chrono on something like a single-loop nylon band.

I wish there were more parts available, but otherwise this is a real fun category.
