If you buy 1 watch only for $1000 and under what would it be?

This would be mine, the Tissot seastar 1000 quartz..

That titsout is nice.

I've not tried this yet. On paper it's great and even has a quick size micro adjust on the clasp which is very uncommon and might make it comfy enough to wear as my daily watch.

Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53 in papaya😙👌

Where I’m at and what I’m looking for, this is it for me.
A grinning smile waiting to happen 😁

I have been waiting for 3 years to get one and took instead a unique opportunity to acquire a watch I will never again be in a position to get.
I had to deviate from course but Lady Luck was on my side then.

Now I’m chipping in, again.

It’s likely not everyone’s cup of tea but I really like this model. On the tropic strap, well researched and talked through, you can still get one here in Europe well under a grand.

·

I recently bought a Monta Skyquest Pepsi for exactly $1000, which is by far the best watch under $1500 I have ever purchased. I would have gladly paid $2000.

More widely available that doesn’t require eBay luck? Hard to beat the Seiko SPB299. Perhaps one of my favorite watches this year. Grand Seiko like looks at a Seiko budget.

As my only watch? The Seiko Baby Alpinist, probably black/grey dial this time 🤔 Or maybe not:

Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53 Skin is $1195, so just misses the mark.

Noup, here in Europe you can still get them on rubber for under a grand USD.

But by the looks of it, inflation will take care of messing it up for me.
A few more weeks and you will be precise 👍
(with an accepted beat error of -/+ 15$ a day)

I was going off RRP. Could get it for $975 here on the bracelet, excluding tax/shipping. Is it under $1000 USD retail there?  Including VAT?

Yeap, Zodiac authorized retailer here in the European Union free economic zone, VAT included and no import duties of any kind.

Besides Belgian beer, this might be the second best perk, cheers 🍻

I would have this watch with the rest of money in my pocket 😁

·

There are so many good options. I can agree with people saying the Alpinists, or the other watches in the spb line. I also like my king turtle. But any watch that is made by a reputable brand and fits your style.

But for me, I'd probably have to pick something quartz for durability in addition to an auto. Like an Alpinist and a DW-5600. For when I'd ruin the mechanical/auto.

I would have the Victorinox INOX in red. Way under $1000 (nearer half that) but a tank proof, Swiss watch that is chunky, well made and finished and looks good. It has a beautifully clear face and a thick rubber strap. I could live with just this watch.
