Homage - Surprisingly Good?
I've said previously on here that, for various reasons, I'm not a fan of the homage watch. However, I saw a review of this watch on JOMW with Jody and I really liked it. I looked on Aliexpress and found it for about £80. Against my better judgement (and quite late at night) I pulled the trigger.
It arrived yesterday.
It pains me to say it but... it's very good. Not just good for £80 good. It's actually good good. The finishing is good, the QC is good. It's got an NH35 movement running at +3 seconds per day on the timegrapher. A 0.1 beat error and high amplitude.... good!
The bracelet is decent with solid links (not folded), screws and not split pins on the removable links and solid end links. The clasp isn't brilliant but it's not awful either... its milled (not pressed) but the edges are a little bit sharp. It came with a NATO strap too so there's an option.
I have to say I am VERY impressed. Yes I know there's no originality in design (it's very close to an out and out fake), but how many watches look like other watches... a lot like other watches.
I'm not sure I want to make a habit of it but the watch does raise questions about just how overpriced many watches are. The watch this is based on (rips off) is currently selling online for £25,000 and more. Really? 300 times more? Even at retail it's 60 times more. Hmmm 🤔

Seems like there are several homage-brands that deliver high quality. Steinhart and Squale are party homage-brands too 🤭 BTW: Did you use top be en the pop juggernaut One Direction? Or do you just pride yourself in having dreamy profil pics?

I used to be in a band called Phlegm Sandwich and we were slightly different to One Direction. Just slightly. I shall change my profile pic again shortly... who knows what's next? 🤔🤭

Im not a big fan of these knock off brands but theres a few like Pagani I can say they are impressive. For those that can't never get the real deal. you will always find it in the Pagani brand!
