To buy the timex now or to save and buy the Seiko in 3 months...?

Let me ask my fellow watch enthousiasts here!

What more would I get from Seiko and is it worth almost 3 times the watch?

·

buy them both, wear them both, then decide.

I'd opt for the Timex. Very well made, decent movement with a 5 year battery life smooth sweeping chrono seconds hand and good bang for the buck.

The Seiko is nice , but not 3x the price nice,

Haha oh my! Maybe! Ouf that's alot of money so I'll have to choose only one!

seiko | timex

  • sapphire with AR | mineral

  • solar | battery (quick change latch helps)

  • "normal" lugs | hidden lugs

  • 100m | 50m

the seiko is likely to have the better lume and you can find it in ebay for ~$500. the timex is better looking.

I'm leaning timex (and this from a seiko fanatic).

also: https://www.citizenwatch.com/us/en/product/AT0200-05E.html?cgid=mens-military can be found easily for ~$150.

Yes I hesitate also for the form factor. Timex seems bulkier I'm not sure about the size and thickness of it. You think they would wear similarly? I know 39vs 40 isn't a big difference but the timex seems to wear bigger. My last two watches were 38-39 mm and I enjoy that size alot

Good comparison there thanks!

It's not a watch I will wear around water. More like a beautiful watch I'll wear for cosy weekends driving etc. I'm more uncertain about the size and thickness of the timex.

Seiko if that’s the one you really want. Buy the Timex now and regret later.

Couldn't find the lug to lug distance but that should tell you more. Enjoy!

The size differential is minimal with the Timex approx 1mm larger(40x46 with a 13.5 thicknes) than the Seiko (39x45.5 with 13.3mm thickness)

Speaking from the wallet I'd say go with the Timex.

That's a nice watch but it's to big for me! Good price and amazing specs and history!

Can't go wrong with a Glycine!
