Well, the cat was out of the bag last night at the big Vancouver meetup, so 'll make it official here as well on our global channel.
fieldwalker's new (for me) GS is... the SBGA413. Now had a solid 24 hours on wrist, and still smiling.
For a few years I've collected GS swag, undertaken far flung trips, and even established a few inside connections at GS, all to know the brand better... so,
How could someone with all this, still not own a GS?
Well, I found a kind private seller that let me have his lightly used model for about 2/3 of what it would've cost me at Canadian retail. I could finally afford it and the deal could happen.
that looks better!
My last post kind of over inflated how big a deal this was, sorry those who thought I'd snagged at white whale like the Kodo, Suwa or Kirazuri. I think next grail for me is likely one of those (the Kodo would also involve some magic economics sadly)
Despite the 413 now becoming a little more common, at least among our high horology group, it's always going to be a special watch for me.
In the decades I've been married, wifey and I spend hours every spring sitting on a blanket, eating drinking and enjoying the transient cherry blossoms above us. It's called 'Hanami'. I've enjoyed it with family and I've enjoyed it with my close friends.

and in front of my home in Vancouver as well:

I think the cherry blossom is such a great theme for a watch, it is the embodiment of both beauty and (brevity of) our time here. I also love that it's titanium and so light. Now a few glamour shots of the 'flower raft', hana ikada:
I'm going to drive ya'll crazy with this in the spring 😜
