Hello my 'crunch family!
Hope your weekend is off the races with a glass of beer and a bowl of chips.
I've been skulking around the interwebs trying to get a better idea of the new Iwate sky based models SGBH311 (sea of clouds) and SBGR325 (light blue sunray).
IMHO - The cloudy model gets the better movement and looks like it will really pop when up close, kinda like 413/443. The blue sunray will pop from a distance, like anything else that looks Tiffany-ish
Found this vid of a British Viking who has a couple of these models in dummy watch form. Most of the vid is chatty and dull, skip around.
So no movement in these but still much easier to get a feel for the dial, rotor, overall look and finishing with video. Limited run of each BTW.
I shan't be getting either of them😒 but if more funds for fun were available to me, I'd lean toward the sea of clouds I think.

6" wrist: fast for marathons, but bad for watches. Bonkers defender of Seiko, but enjoy an unhealthy love for all watches. Please enable this addiction. From Van BC and here now. Occasionally I'm in J...
GS has so many releases these days that I'm always just waiting for something to really wow me before I take the plunge again.
These look lovely. They always do! But they don't move me...yet
I'm such a dilettante 🤣🤣🤣
They look nice, but not anything that has got my heart racing!
@HotWatchChick69 and @Edge168n - yup, with y‘all on this
I’m not fully sold yet either, at least till I see a couple of properly effusive reviews or have seen in person.
1400 isn’t a big production run however, so cloudy mc cloud face may disappear quick if it’s a hit

One thing I've learned about grand Seiko is that given enough time, even the limited editions end up not being that limited. I suspect we'll find these back on the market used in great condition in 18 months at agreeable prices.

Almost always true! - but some of the epic peacocks like OG Kirazuri, Ryusendo, Suwa …etc have gone all Rolexy 💵🚀on us
Annoyingly, I’m an epic peacock sort of guy. 🤪😉
In 4 years, it will be the 30 year anniversary for the Spring Drive movement. I'll wait for the "limited edition" for that one. 😜
You’ve gotta be kidding me
