How many watches do you travel with?

We just bought plane tickets for a 2 week vacation and I'm wondering how many watches I want to bring.   Yes I can get by with just a single watch but what's the fun in that.

I like to bring two or three watches for a couple of weeks of travel. It gives me a bit of flexibility in style, and some variety.

I'll usually have a watch on a leather strap for nice evenings out, and then something on a MN for comfort/durability. The third option varies, but lately it's been my Navigator for the tritium and quartz ease of use.

·

One on any given trip.  But I do have multiple quick change straps, and bring at least two (one canvas in case I decide to swim or want casual, and a leather in case I want to go to a nice restaurant).

·

Two. One for most things and one that I can wear if the weather is going to be terrible or if I am going somewhere where I am uncomfortable wearing a luxury piece. My second watch is usually a G-Shock, my Citizen Promaster or my Seiko Tuna.

·

Depends on where I travel, if its a high crime state I would wear my Hamilton khaki field.

·

I recently took a week long trip and brought 4 total. I found that was plenty, and ended up wearing the same watch for 4 of the days.

·

4 in a roll, one on the wrist

·

I often travel with three watches.

A dress watch

A "Diver" minimum 20 atm

And I always take my Garmin forerunner.

·

Depends on the type of trip, but 2-3, typically.  Dress and casual.  Usually the casual is a beater with good a WR rating.

That’d be me too. 2-3 plus what‘s on the wrist, which is often my Marathon quartz with tritium hands.  My watch case will have a dress watch, a GMT and maybe a diver/sports.

·

Usually, one unless a situation calls for a suit.

·

Usually commit to one and change straps, but I recently got a WatchPod and decided to take two on my next trip.

Always have a diver, 2nd watch is a toss up.

·

Always only took one but we are about to leave for Switzerland for 2 weeks and I’m planning to take two this time, a beater quartz and a Swiss mechanical.

·

Couple, two three, and some straps to boot. All depends. Not more than I think I can't replace easily if entirely lost.

·

Usually 4 (3 in the roll and 1 on the wrist).

However, I recently went to D.C. for a few days and decided to only bring 1 watch for the trip. It was sort of nice! Probably won't be doing that for all vacations in the future but once in a while it can be nice.

·

I just went on a weeklong trip and only brought one watch, an Aquaracer. After a few days I wished that I would have brought a second watch, either a Garmin or a G Shock.

·

I discovered 2 is enough and 3 sometimes takes up to much space. So I take a 2 watch watchroll and put one in and one on my wrist. One everyday piece that can also dress up and a beater watch. For me it’s the Vostok since I don’t have a g shock yet

·

I'm off for three weeks camping today (8 hour drive + ferry starts in about 20mins actually). Taking my Sinn U50 for pretty much everything, and my Archimede 1950-3 on nato for formal dining and urban occasions.

·

Two usually. Which watches I take  depends on the time, place, and occassion

·

three!

·

I try to do two. One nice piece befitting the trip and one somewhat obviously inexpensive one. For any time I need it but mainly for the flight home and the hike back to the car after a red eye. I often find myself alone in a dark parking structure. No sense in putting a target on my back.

·

3 in a watch roll and one on the wrist. I try to bring a GADA, diver, high lume and dress watch but there's always variation.

·

Honestly, I have other things on my mind when traveling or in business situations. I've often used a no muss, no fuss Citizen Eco-Drive for either situation. They just work and don't need to be babied or adjusted.

While there's a chance they might die, I have a cell phone (and tablet or notebook) as backup. I'd likely go to a drugstore to buy a $10 quartz watch in an emergency...or just use my phone.

·

I think I'll just take my casio royale to Germany in Sept......suspect I'll be doing some window shopping....a used Sinn could come back with me

·

For extended trips (>1 wk), I pack the roll: A do-it-all, a dress and a diver, but that depends...

I always take 3 with me on my travels.

·

I take two, and this is a trait I picked up from an early WMBrown article.

I take a do everything diver / gmt watch. I can wear it swimming, dressed up or dressed down, out to dinner, etc. And I take a super cheap F91W comparable watch in my toilet case for silly sweaty and dirty occasions.

I had to travel home this week for a family emergency and these are what came with. As I get older I try and travel with as little as absolutely possible, and the last thing I want to deal with is worrying about the $$$$$ of watches left in my hotel room or accommodation of choice.

(Please excuse my horrible lighting)

Usually 2-3 but which ons depends on the trip and season :)

  • a solid watch (bb58 or Explorer ii)
  • Dresswatch (JLC)
  • Casual on leather (Panerai or Nomos, Seiko Chrono)
·

One watch with a GMT complication.

·

2 in the pouch and 1 on the wrist.

·

My last trip I was very disciplined and only took 2. Speedy on the wrist and BB58 in the pouch.
