Deciding on my first automat
Hello guys, im new here.
I have a few quartz design watches, seiko, storm london, cloude bernard, casio. Might show them one day when i build more decent collection.
I am looking into getting my first mechanical watch. So far i loved this Hamilton i uploaded. I saw the watch randomly in the mall and took a picture of it. Than i searched it online, its HAMILTON US 66-H35615135 with a 2897 movement. But i couldnt find any information about it, just that there was some limited version of it and alot of fakes. Is there a way to know if its legit ?
Than i looked for few weeks and i love other Hamilton Jazzmaster skeleton automats with the new H10 movement. Also Orient Star skeleton watches and Seiko Alpinist. I liked the look of Poljot International watches, but than i red that they are made with chinese parts and not rly worth the 1k eu.
But rly this Hamilton so far is my n1 and i love how different looks on the wrist. Its around 900 eu with big discount, but when i looked it on google i found only chinese fakes for about 90-300$. Its an official store with warranty and all, but its a rly strange, old or rare model watch, so im not sure.
Would love some advice. The only experiance i have is with an Edox Delfin Automat that i gifted my dad few years back.

So, the ETA 2897 is a solid movement -- it's a 2892 with the addition of a power reserve indicator. If the retailer is an official Hamilton AD and is going to issue you a warranty card, I'd say that you're good to go.

As for the Hamilton, I’ve actually never seen one of these before. I agree that if it’s from an AD you should be fine. Otherwise, maybe somebody here is knowledgeable about the lesser known Hamilton and what to look for.
