Why is it bad for crown down? I’ve read somewhere: if the watch runs fast crown up as slows it a little. Crown down slows it a bit more. I’ve tried it in the crown down position and it was gaining about 1 second per day. It’s a 0 +5 movement but usually is +2 secs p/day. So itseems to work!
Welcome to WC. I have the 2254! It’s on my wrist now! Great watch neo vintage!
Read your comments on the 1016….check out the Nivada Grenchen 369 new re release - I like the chemically aged tropical dial version but the black is also good - that would satisfy a 1016 itch!? What do you think? 👍
I think the examples in the video are very well picked and demonstrates that the Seamaster 300 - The Bond Spector model (as an example) looks much more appealing with white lume. The modern Omega Railmaster would look better with white as well. There are just too many brands doing it and it looks contrived and overplayed. However there are exceptions; Nivada Grenchen deserve a mention with what they are producing at the moment. Faithful recreations of past successful watches - the chronomaster is a good example its a pretty cool looking watch. They have also done a chemically aged tropical dial with 3 6 9 which is a recreation of a 60’s model. This watch looks really cool and I can’t help but like it!
Great video! Good view point well presented.I have thought about fauxtina and vintage styling and how it will look in the future? Most good brands will out last their owner I want my watches to grow and age with me. So they look like they are part of my history. 👍
Welcome to WC! Pelagos 39 = future classic, but the 19mm lugs are annoying. BB 58 is a lovely looking watch as well however it has a ‘vintage’ aesthetic now but not sure how that will look in 20 years ? They are both good solid watches you can’t go wrong with either!
