I love the retro look, but the overall size and the bracelet was/is challenging. I'd love Casio to come out with a new vintage-inspired version, larger and with a better bracelet. Does anyone else feel the same?
I suspect people would balk at the increased cost. Casio can pump out lots of inexpensive watches because they haven't changed a lot of them in a decade or two(or more). They haven't had to pay to change the production line on them, so there is zero "extra" cost over materials, labour, and maintenance.

Hey kristianG. Good point. I didn’t think about that. That makes sense.
Nope. The big watch fad is merely a bell-bottom or shoulder pad excess that we are sadly living through. Embracing it will prove embarrassing.
"Updated classics" tend to be compromises that please nobody, regardless of category. All or nothing.

To each their own. What makes this community great is there is something for everyone and we dont have to all like the same thing. just out of curiosity, what do you consider a “ big watch”? 40-42mm is my sweet spot. I would consider this A700 to be tiny.

My understanding is that going back about 25 years, 38mm was jumbo-sized. I'll allow that it is more medium-large today. Mainly, I think small is good. It shows refinement, advanced technology and production methods, quality, efficiency. The embiggening of watches is a fashion move made to sell more watches. It makes sense if one has fading vision, I guess.
I recently purchased the A700W, and I was initially taken aback by how small it seemed. After wearing it for a bit, I find that I like its size, but would certainly jump on a scaled up version. My bigger complaint with the A700W is with its bracelet. I am going to replace it with a black resin strap which I've already ordered.
Hey everyone. I’m Eric and I started collecting affordable watches in 2020. I’ve recently started a YouTube channel, Eric’s Everyday Watches, where I review watches that the everyday working man can a...

I totally agree! Casios are swallowed up on my wrist! Bigger versions would be great!
Cheers!

Timex did it with the T80 last year, so it is possible for Casio to decide to capitalize on the 80s and 90s nostalgia with some updated new releases.

Actually the T80 is on my list to check out ( the all black version). But I had a bad experience with the Casio, so I’ve put it off for a while. 😁
