Russian vintage watches: I just love the quirkiness of some of their designs, and their affordability. The Pobeda, before import tax and postage was....... $16. The modern one is a Vostok, the "pack of cards" is a marriage watch. The photo of the two watches(photo in next post) was my over enthusiasm, didn't read the description....women's watches. ๐12/7, just added photo of my Chaika Stadium..
Slightly eccentric, wicked sense of humour. Self confessed watch cheapskate, who tinkers with watches. Love motorbikes, to date, I've ridden about 250,000 miles, 113,000 of which are on my BMW 1150GS....

Now that is a chunky woman's watch. Ordered two more this morning from Ukraine. Definitely bloke's watches this time๐
Russian watches start as a rabbit hole and then suddenly you're in a warren that's linked to other warrens. I've managed to hold myself in check, though I do have a Pobeda with similar indices. This was ยฃ19 all in. I'll wear it tomorrow.
I cycled through that process a few years ago and only recently emerged. They are a great way to explore odd styles and keep to a budget. Besides, the Ukrainian economy probably could use a little extra money.
What would happen if you through a NATO on a Russian watch?

It would further cheapen the watch even if you think it's impossible to do so with a Russian watch.

It can be done. World Peace was achieved for about 30 seconds in 1991.
Komanderski on a watch crunch nato....do I get extra points for that one?
I have a Pobeda dress from the 60s, which cost me ยฃ12 including postage, and a Sekonda I suspect from not long before the collapse of the USSR, late 80s maybe even 90s, that I've just got a delivery email for, that was ยฃ13 all in. Hoping to secure a Raketa Copernicus next.
One of my first collecting focuses, and still dear to me. They really are special!
I have plenty of Russian watches due to they are common here in Eastern Europe. This is the most unusual from the collection.

Wish that were true in real life

I fell down deep into the above mentioned rabbit hole!
My addiction continues unabated. ๐๐ค๐๐๐๐๐ My latest Ebay purchases from Ukraine.

Likely fall apart. ๐
I haven't dipped my toes in too far. I do like Vostok. I don't have an Amphibia, so I need to correct that.

I have an Amphibia, I do like it. But second hand watches from Ukraine, to me, have more character
Sad but true
Admittedly not had mine long, but some are from 1953 and still running. Need I say more?

My Raketa world city watch runs at plus two seconds face up on my timegrapher. Worst position is plus 8 seconds. 40 year old watch, unknown history. I think that is good.
