O fellow Crunchniks! I feel my collection is lacking a "techy" ticker, and I always wanted a watch with a compass. I kinda like the look of this Timex. Has anybody here ever owned the watch pictured above, and would kindly tell me about their experience - does the compass work well? Is the thing reliable, rugged enough for real outdoor use? Pros, cons? Alternatives (that don't look "tactical")?
Thank you so much in advance!
Thank you Erik!
My first ever watch was the black version of this one. I was 14, I bought it after many months of allowances. My family used to go to the beach every year, so I became fascinated by the sea. So when I saw this watch on a store, I immediately fell in love, specially for the tide function. When I bought it, it was to early in the year to go to beach as usual. It was the longest 3 months of my life because I really wanted to try the ride function at the beach. The time had come and I enjoyed every single day with my watch, and the following many years until I became fascinated by watches, 12 years later, and now I have other watches to wear alongside with it. Anyway, it's a very nice watch, very durable, has useful functionalities, it's a bit big but nothing monstrous.
That screams to me boyscout !!! Nice 👍🏼

Aww, what a sweet story. I'm sold :)
Thank you so much Felipe!
If nothing else, it’s a great looking watch.
