With a h/t to @Bobofet 's thread on the most useful WatchCrunch thread
Crunchers, @Max might not have realized it, but I think WatchCrunch might be the densest bit of high quality personal watch writing on the internet. Not a day goes by that I don't think "Man, this person should probably be on the masthead of a real watch publication."
Not the way the world works of course but, the Instagram nature of the WC feed means that you (and by you, I mean me) miss tons of fantastic writing from fellow watch nerds. That feels like a shame.
So I put it to you friends. What were the best pieces of watch writing you've seen here?
For my money, this is the writing I adored.
Poignant, sentimental, beautifully written. I wish my anything I wrote on this site was this good.

Three excellent short pieces spanning history to investigative reporting. Did you know about the history of Elgin or the weird manufactured WW1 origins of men's wristwatches? I sure as heck didn't.

From our resident not-Omeganut. As strong a believer that exists in the idea that watches are not investments, see his descent into madness as he spends time with his precious new SBGK015.
What a watch travelogue should look like. Beautiful pictures, wonderful stories and an adventure to remember.

A lovely short self examination of the joys of borrowing and lending out a watch. Brief and witty.

Tag your favorites and their authors!
By day, investor and father. By night, Seiko nut
The authors listed are fantastic. 👏
Yes, I reckon posts like these would put to shame almost any horological publication
I’ll add your name to this illustrious list as the Watches in the Wild series has been a favourite of mine.

Flatterer.
I mostly just have an endless appetite for good watch writing (that isn't just a review) so I am hoping someone has a couple of gems in the catalogue that they're willing to punt my way 😉
Oh, garsh, thank you! (Fracas blushes). Very kind words, and making me feel rather humble. WC is such a great community, I find myself just sort of inspired to connect here.
Agree with the list. I swear too much to be considered a literary great.
probably need to add @erikswrist as well, some of his articles are definitely worth considering.
I agree with your list and would add:
@erikswrist for his insightful takes on watch collecting.
@Edge168n, yourself, for showing me the other world of high end watches through the lens of wonderful stories.
@Porthole for all his massively informative and witty writing.
@celinesimon for her hugely helpful and informative pieces on the watch world.

All great writers (and that other guy edge)!
Can't believe I left out @Porthole ''s masterpiece

Thank you, @Deeperblue and @Porthole! The engagement has been awesome and I appreciate your reading. I can always rely on you two to offer amazing feedback and criticism. Thank you for the shout-out 🤘😎🤘

WC is the only social media I participate in.
Keep writing! I am sure you have many more stories to tell!

Me, too. I was on twitter, but, um, for me that bird has flown.
Will do, but you're the story-teller! I'm more of a self-referential navel-gazer who is apparently doing some sort of life review through the admittedly wonderful lens of watches.

Now that's just all of us, myself worst of all. But belly buttons require witnesses and stories need telling 😉
