Hey everyone! I figured id ask a fun question. I’ll start us off with this $1 flea market 1982 Timex “Command Bar”
I paid $7 for a Raymond Weil
I think that you may have overpaid. ($1 for a Raketa.)
$ 11.00 us for the basic CASIO square...the basic EAW-F-91W-1
for me the same but for 10€
£9 F91w (Amazon sale)
£13 Majex Kingstar (not spares and repairs)
couple of freebies for bad eBay deals.
found a Casio MQ24 with broken strap in the street once, battery changed and worked fine.
£2 for a watch magazine that used to release here in the UK. Came with a free watch. Wasn't that great but the canvas strap was alright and I still wear the watch as a beater. Magazine was a good read as well
This was my cheapest watch, yet it cost me the most. I paid £60 for this watch from Amazon because I liked how it looked….little did I know it would lead me to Panerai and end up costing me thousands because I just had to have the genuine article when I realised there was a brand who made watches that looked like this, and I liked it so much.
Suprisingly this cheapy from Amazon looked like the movement was made out of an aluminium can, however I was able to regulate it to within 2 seconds per day!
Ah, the 'gate-way drug' watch. I know it well 😆 The be fair, it's a nice looking watch in its own right 👌
My cheapest is this postage stamp sized Rodania off eBay for £5. Filling the Cartier shaped hole in my soul for now.
Nice! Is the command bar one button or does it have different function depending which side you press?
$10 back in the day for a Casio F91, and $39 for a Seiko SNK809, what a gateway watch!
It’s actually two buttons acting as one! Left side sets the time or alarm, and the right side toggles through the functions 👊
Shane Paradis. I’m a stringed instruments repairer/restorer, and cat dad 😄 I’m here for the fun and fellowship.
