NWA馃毃 Wife said - You can have one more, AND IT's a CALCULATOR!

I already have HUGE 4 watch collection (my boys and wife always say - Dzintars have too much watches, I might be ill 馃槵).

But then something happened, one day wife brought up the subject and said "OK, You can buy one more, that's it..."

I know that many of You have a some kind of list, and it might include "The One" or "the END of the Game" watch, when You buy the last one, or even sell all existing watches to get this one and only one. For some it Rolex, GS, AP or CW. For me, this went differently. Yes, I want, at some point, to buy Ball Engineer, Seiko Astron and Yellow Tissot Sideral, but they, to me, are not considered - essential. Yes, they look nice, a bit bizarre (that alone ticks all the boxes for me). but there always been one watch that is irreplaceable - CALCULATOR.

Calculator adds a childish charm to the wearer, and because it is full metal, it will go with me to theater, opera and everyday grocery shopping.

That was like a dream from childhood. But I don't want the plastic case ones, so the search began. Somehow I run into Seiko C515-5000 series watches that was made from 1977 and trough 80's. So, it is defiantly a vintage. Unused ones on e-Bay are selling from 800 to 1400$, at the other end, you can get non-operational ones for 50$. I got mine for 280$, yes, it shows the wear, but all functions (light, alarm, calculator, timer works), and new replacement parts are still available.

Most of e-bay listings are from Japan or US, and most sellers write in description, that they might reject international shipping ( and shipping is predicted to taka a month). This one I found from a watch dealer in Ukraine - so, despite the invasion of armed Russians there, shipping is fast. Bonus - with purchase I am supporting at least one family in war situation 馃挭

Can not wait to add my first WRUW with it!

P.s. somehow all of my watches, except for Alpinist, I bought online without seeing them In life before.

My fingers are too big and ears can not distinguish note from plane noise ( and all 8 notes are the same). But wife and kids play it a lot 馃檪

I cannot wait! 100% worth the effort / hassle. It is such an ultimate example of a cutting edge design for a calculator watch!

You can probably say 鈥淚t鈥檚 a calculator, not a watch.鈥 And buy another馃榿
