The story of my watch collecting. Part 3.

Hello everyone!

I continue my story. I hope at least someone might be interested in this))

I ended up deciding to sell all my budget watches and buy one from premium brand and close the issue with the watches forever!

Like any self-respecting enthusiast, I became a fan of the story of the watches on the moon. It's unbelievable. True legend! They saved people's lives, they are still used in space and there are simply no alternatives to them in nature! Very beautiful, fantastically reliable and useful, as it is a chronograph. Naturally I'm talking about Moonwatch. This watch has become my grail.

However, there were two big problems. Very big problems! I recently sold Alpina, due to the fact that they were 42mm in size... and besides, the cost of Moonwatch is 5-6 thousand $! Never in my life would I spend that kind of money on a watch! I'll leave that for the oligarchs with the elephant's wrist.

So, after a deeper dive into the Omega history and catalog, I found a solution - Speedmaster Date!

- luxury brand competing with Rolex,
- ideal size 39mm,
- water protection of 100 meters,
- appearance repeating the legendary Moonwatch,
- a mega reliable 7750 caliber with a date that even cavemen can serve it using stones instead of tools.

And all this for $ 2000 on the secondary market, in perfect condition and with a full set. What idiots are those who buy Moonwatch for 6 thousand! I broke the system once again. I'm just a genius.

When I purchased them, I immediately took them to service (not to cavemen), despite the fact that they would have passed quietly for a few more years. But I was going to spend the rest of my life with them. I ordered about 1000 different straps and thus I got a watch that was suitable for everyday, for vacations and for festive events under a suit. This time, the people around me appreciated my choice very positively. There was an Omega on my wrist. The pinnacle of watchmaking. I just couldn't believe this was happening to me.

So that, my watch journey was closed once and for all. But something goes wrong...

Thanks to everyone who read to the end! See you!

Very logical choice, from the pricepoint still attainable too. I wonder what was wrong in the next episode

Great story!  Okay, I can't wait for the next installment to find out why you fell out of love with it!!!

·

Congratulations!

My dream is to get the Speedy new from an AD since I want not just the watch, but also the AD experience. Why? Because it will be the ONLY watch I buy worthy of such pomp & circumstance.

Your route IS tempting, and I can see why you went that way.

If you are anything similar to the rest of us, I too look forward to hearing about your next purchase. Just like HotWatchChick69 says. 😉

Wear it in good health!

I think this constantly.  It's never true though 😭

Amazing story.
