I was looking for a very specific thing and I believe I found it. Have a couple questions though.

Around a week ago I posted about wanting recs for an explorer style watch. Several of you gave some great responses and I appreciate that. After cruising on eBay on Sunday afternoon I made an offer on this L2.785.4.56.6 Conquest Classic. It’s got a great bracelet with a butterfly clasp, a subtle texture on the dial, and a gorgeous exhibition back. I have seen them on Chrono24 dating back to production years of 2013 or so, amd can’t find any new ones for sale so I figured they were out of production and the current Conquest lineup was what I see on Longines website. Then I saw some showing a 2022 year of production, and the few showings I see of this model on YouTube are all in other languages I can’t understand. Does anyone know  if these are still produced? Is it not sold in American markets? I’m digging the watch so far and would like to learn a little more about the model.

I Googled the reference number. They are currently for sale at Exquisite Timepieces and Prestige Time, two reasonably well known grey market websites. There’s also a white dial version of the watch available at Exquisite Timepieces and Watches & Beyond (a site I hadn’t heard of before today). Watchmaxx indicates the model was discontinued, which is probably true. Longings appears to be phasing out the Conquest Classic line (not to be confused with either the Conquest or the Hydroconquest lines).

I did the same google searching and saw the same stuff. It does seem like it was discontinued I’m just not sure when.

I know nothing about this reference but Longines are cool, and that is an extremely cool example.

This Longines seems to be a mixed of discretion, quality and simplicity. Can we call that perfection ?👌

I've handled this watch in person in an AD in Europe (about €1,700), I think it's called the Longines Conquest Classic.  It seemed fine but only offers 50m of water resistance.  Personally I prefer the normal 39mm Conquest on the blue dial and that one's cheaper and has 300m water resistance.

You’re not wrong, but when I found this for a third of that retail price I jumped on it.

A third of the retail price is great.  I think I've only bought myself a watch at retail once.  Always buy below it.
