New Vintage 1971? Hamilton Thinline? 19001-3

I was searching on ebay and ran across several great deals on vintage watches: three Hamiltons and a Junghans. This is the first to arrive, a Thinline (I think). The serial number on the caseback is #19001-3, and I believe it is from 1971. It is in great shape and running well. It came on a faux crocodile strap that I replaced with this tan suede strap from Strapsco.

Hey, @Aurelian and @WatchYourIntruder, did I win Watch Crunch for the day for this one? 🤣

That is a beautiful, clean looking proper dress watch. Well done. You can be the Watch Crunch of the Week, or Month, in my book.

I just spent 40 minutes on the Hamilton Chronicles because I thought the indices looked early 60's only to find out that you are right. Very nice pick-up. I put also on a Hamilton just to feel that thinness.

I am getting addicted to the vintage market! 😂

You have good taste.

Thanks. I find myself heading to ebay instead of AliExpress much more. I spent $150 for this Hamilton, equal to or less than I would for a San Martin. 🤩

Nice one. Looking forward to seeing the Junghans when it arrives.

What size is that?

33mm

Wow! It looks fantastic. Never would have thought a 33mm would look that good. Makes their current iteration of 40mm seem unnecessary.

Many collectors are surprised at how large vintage 30mm-34mm watches wear. I know I was when I got my first vintage watch. To me, it appears larger because the dial occupies all of the case; minimal bezel and rehaut.

If I knew more about watchmaking and watch designing, I would start a microbrand specializing in vintage-sized watches. 😁 I think there is a market for 32mm-35mm watches like this. Look at the popularity of the 34mm Timex Marlin reissue.

That is nice. I like the numbers/markers format.
