660 miles. Orces, elves, giant spiders. How exciting does that sound?!
"WTAF is she talking about now?" you're thinking.
Well, like so many others I would like to get a bit fitter this year and I'm a sucker for gamifying everything (as you know), so I'm going to sign up for the Lord of The Rings challenge on The Conqueror (it's about the cost of a Casio A100).
It's a virtual walk (or cycle, or swim or any exercise really, even yoga can count), so you add what distance you've done each day or week and it shows you your progress on a cool little app. The website explains it better than I do!
It looks like it takes you through the LotRs story as you go and you get a cool medal at the end of each section 🎉 (there are 5 sections I think and bare in mind you have to pay for each)
It can be done solo or people can join together as a Fellowship and all our miles count towards the total.
Obviously if you are someone who busts out 20 mile bike rides every day before breakfast we may have to nerf your numbers a bit 😉 and maybe we encourage wrists shots when you do your exercise.
I think us doing it as a team could help us all stay motivated and actually getting out walking will give us a much needed break from watch obsessing! 👍 We need to look after our mental health people! ❤️
The biggest problem is going to be which watch to wear to Mordor? 🤔 A watch roll may be in order.
There are loads of different virtual walks to take, up to the 2500 mile Pacific Crest Trail if people think 660 sounds too easy 😂
EDIT: I have started my journey as of 7th Jan '23 🎉
If you want to join us DM me and I can send you a code 👍
So what's it gonna be?
