Thank you to @Chunghauphoto for kindly being guest theme setter and judge for last weeks photo thread with the theme of 'Duo's'
Some amazing pictures submitted and some great feedback from @Chunghauphoto on how to actually improve our photography. Thank you!
Here are his runners up from last week:
Well done everyone!
As usual the winner will be in Tuesdays newsletter.
This weeks guest judge is @JaimeMadeira. Check out the comments below to see which topic he has chosen for this week.
Notes for Newcomers:
If you are new to this thread and enjoy photography then feel free to post your pictures! We run a fresh photography thread each week, starting on the Sunday, and have a guest judge set the theme and pick winners each week. You are welcome to post as many pictures as you wish with a connection to that weeks theme. The runners up will be mentioned in the following weeks thread and the winner gets a mention in the weekly newsletter.
Good luck and have fun everyone!
Nice work guys!!
Thanks @Deeperblue for organising these challenges, and thanks @Chunghauphoto for last weeks theme, judging, and advice.
Having thought about it, and looking at some of last weeks entries, and inspired by some art photography back in the day, I thought a good theme might be โIndirectโ. It should open the field to some interesting use of distortion, reflection, projection, and all manner of things. It in some ways may also lead to thinking more about the photo as image, rather than specifically about the watch being photographed. Be as tangential as you likeโฆ thatโs indirect in itself.
Hereโs a collage of some I whipped up this afternoon, and from existing shots, using household objects really โ just to get a feel, and hopefully they might give some good ideas how to go about it for you guys:
So.
โIndirectโ
I look forwards to seeing what comes up. ๐
Edit:
And of course, as @Chunghauphoto started last week, remember you can always post images for critique โ rather than as entries โ by simply labelling them as such!

Oh wow!
This is going to be interesting!
I am happy to put my photo forward for critique when I've done it and will tag @JaimeMadeira and @Chunghauphoto for their kind advice when I do ๐
A mention on here,I'm made up so thankyou. Just been asked to work tonight so I will see if I can cook something up as I walk round the old place, cheers.๐ค
How's this for indirect?
Or possibly this
I would add my favorite indirect photo, but I think Iโve posted it like 200+ times on WC now, so wonโt force it on yโall yet again!

You don't need the words. You know.

a) How come we can't do gifs anymore??? (Actually, I know the answer... they're like 1MB files, while photos are much smaller.)
b) Here it is in all its glory!

Definitely on theme ๐
Had to wake my colleagues up for this๐ค๐ค๐
Donโt forget you guys can crop and tinker with images in apps like Snapseed and Lightroom (both free, both handy) as well as bunches of others to bring a finish to your photo. Itโs like using a polishing cloth (or Scotchbrite) to your watch.
