With the final 11 Hunters completing the last challenge yesterday, the first ever WatchCrunch Scavanager Hunt is now at its end.
It's been a crazy 4 weeks and I have been amazed by the tenacity, humour and imagination of this group. The game would be nothing at all without the players and everyone has been phenomenal, from the starting 24 competitors to those who joined in with challenges along the way.
A special congratulations to the final 11 who were crazy enough to stick it out for the full 4 weeks. I reluctantly accept the fact that I could not break you.
Together, in the final flash challenge for charity, you took a total of 633 photos in 12 hrs. This total has been doubled and equates to 316.50 USD for GiveDirectly to support those in the poorest countries and £126.60p for my local food bank.
I have been down Aldi this morning and bought a colossal amount with the money you raised which will go towards making up food parcels for the vulnerable over Christmas. My turn to be the weirdo taking pictures in the supermarket.
I also bought a Euro Millions ticket, so if we win big we can all celebrate new year on the party boat (see my response on this thread for more information on the party boat).
You final 11 have definitely earned your special participation rewards which I will put together and send out in the next couple of weeks.
Well done to @lmchew for winning the most points over the course of the challenge and bagging the top prize of the official WatchCrunch watch pouch.
I have also spoken to the @WatchCrunch team and they are creating a special Scavenger Hunt winners badge for the finishing 11, as they agree you deserve recognition for putting up with me and my BS for an entire month.
I would also like to propose that @Ichibunz be rewarded honourary Scavenger Pack status for his herculean efforts during the movie challenge, which he kindly agreed to help me with.
Thank you @HotWatchChick69 for allowing us to funnel funds through your charity work scheme so we can have the biggest impact possible.
Thank you @Aurelian who is the OG WatchCrunch game organiser, for his kind advice and guidance in the early planning stages of the hunt.
Thank you to @hakki501 for your ideas for this challenge and patience in allowing the pausing of the 'Photo of the Week' thread while all this craziness was going on. 🙏
Lastly, thank you to @WatchCrunch for providing this platform where like-minded and slightly unhinged folks like myself can come together for joint exploits of stupidity.
Till next year! (Happy for someone to volunteer to run the next one!)
