The Weekly Watch Crunch Photography Club!

A day late due to a busy weekend, but your weekly photography thread is here!

Last weeks theme was "Sentimental Watches" set by the lovely @HotWatchChick69. He has chosen his winner, who will be in the newsletter tomorrow, but he struggled to choose a runner up out of all of the other great photos.

I've taken an executive decision to pick my own personal favourite this week, so I have chosen @hakki501's wonderful picture of his mums watch, which I know is particularly special to him.

@hakki501 has also agreed to kindly be guest theme setter and judge for this week, so he will let us know his choice in the comments.

Have fun everyone!

Notes for Newcomers:

If you are new to this thread and enjoy photography then feel free to post your pictures! We run a fresh photography thread each week, starting on the Sunday, and have a guest judge set the theme and pick winners each week. You are welcome to post as many pictures as you wish with a connection to that weeks theme. The runners up will be mentioned in the following weeks thread and the winner gets a mention and their winning photo in the weekly newsletter.

Winners also get an exclusive 'Winners Badge' for their WC profile!

Glad I stumbled across this thread - thank you for offering it as I will look to learn from the pro's here!

Going to be really impressed with the winner if it's better than that awesome shot from @hakki501

·

It's got to be the photo of @IanCognito's son and his watch. Made me smile all week Long! Best shot in my book.

Kid Cognito & I really appreciate that! He loves playing with the chronograph 😁👍

·

@Deeperblue Aww, thanks Kaysia. Humbled and honored to even be nominated as runner-up.

@tempus Thanks, bud. Honored to get your vote. I'm sure @HotWatchChick69's pick has more reasons to get the prize. Image

For this week's theme, dovetailing on the photo of my Mom's watch, let's go for a favorite yet simple pleasure, and often a past time, that everyone can participate in.

Theme: My watch and my favorite beverage. It could be coffee, tea, milk, beer, wine, whiskey, or any and all sorts of cocktails and liquor. Heck, it could also be oats milk, a veggie smoothie, or a concoction from Tibet -- whatever lights your fire! Create and share photos that say, "My simple pleasures -- my watch and my drink". Have fun!! Image

My favorite beverage is coffee, our home setup is pretty over the top.

Not prizeworthy, but on theme. At a conference with a beer and a book.

Waiting for a friend who’s always late…

Great theme 👍 I am partial to a morning Nespresso, so here is my Vertex M60 with my fav coffee pods.

Just messing about really, because this is literally my daily watch on my daily drink… is it my favourite? Probably. Maybe. It doesn’t make for the most interesting photo though. Passable. I will try to take something better me thinks.

I can sense your thoughts after you read the name on the dial, or maybe not. But let me tell you why I feel at ease sharing this watch and it's story. The WatchCrunch community is unlike the others I've contributed to. It's obvious we love watches; not expensive watches or rare watches but watches. Watches as story-telling opportunities and so I'm happy to share why this watch gets more wrist time than I ever thought.

My mom bought me this Geoffrey Beene watch from Kohl's most likely. I wear it pretty regularly and it doesn't even tick anymore; the battery ran out a while ago. But I don't wear it to check the time. I wear it to be reminded of how powerful a mother's love is. I wear it as a reminder of what true unconditional love is. It's slightly too big and not something I would have ever purchased for myself but I appreciate it for what it is.

So I took the watch off my wrist this morning and paired it with my mom's favorite morning beverage, chamomile tea.

Cheers!

Favorite Scotch & Favorite Watch!

To spread the WC love imho last week's photo contest winner shouldn't be eligible to win two weeks in a row but I wanted to share that I'm a huge Walking Man enthusiast and that I have tippled most types with the exception of the High Rye (Bulleit is my go to Rye).

Hoping to open another bottle of the California Limited Edition with other Crunchers perhaps at WindUp SF. In the meantime Slàinte Mhath!

Not sure if the sunbeam is a done thing in photography, but the yellow thing in the sky made a brief (and rare) appearance so it's in. And paired with PS I Love U '2' (similar to ps I love u but with a few tweeks) perfect for apres, during n before and really good for someone suffering with the damn lurgy.

The milk is also homage. Almond in this case.

I don't even like water that much, but my Casio is water resistant, not milkshake resistant.
