Reissue of Time Sonar

I may have missed a post on this, but I'm curious on people's thoughts on the reissue of the Seiko Time Sonar.

Above is the original from the 70's and Fratello has a nice article on it: https://www.fratellowatches.com/seiko-watches/a-closer-look-at-the-seiko-7015-6010-time-sonar-chronograph/#gref

As a fanatic for old Seikos I think it's one of the more fun reissues for a while, but sadly too big for me.

Here's some info about the reissue:

Would love to see some wrist shots of this if anyone has them. 👍

I kept meaning to post this yesterday after my IG feed seemed to be bombarded about it.

The transparent blue and orange is very nice.

I'm wearing my SRPD now. If they put this in a new smaller version then I would probably be more interested.

Love the 70's one much more...but on board with a reissue

Yeah, 42.5mm and 46mm lug-lug will likely not sit right on my wrist. I do find the look of the visible day and date wheels appealling though. Reminds me of the Christopher Ward.

I agree. I prefer the look of the case. 👍

I like that quite a bit.

Are you British?? Sounds like the kind of guarded restrained under-statement we'd make 😂

Not a fan of the multiple colors of the dial. If it was just blue or just orange, that would have been a better choice.

·

the exposed date and day wheel is cool, but ultimately I just find it to be too busy.

Only in my Ancestry.com results.  😜.

I really dig the new watches, same designer had a hand in a really cool g shock collab a few years ago.

If I am going to spend special edition seiko 5 money, its more likely going to be on the gmt. Its cool, but to me does not justify the extra $$.

A bit late to this thread but I think it's a poor mish-mash of styles.  Adding a rally-diver bezel to a time sonar feels quite lazy.

I say this liking both the old time sonar and the Seiko Rally divers separately.
