An Orient is a good way to start with an automatic movement. If you like open heart watches, good for you. My question would be, when and where do you see yourself wearing the watch?

If it's in the office than yeah, that would be fine. If you want to make it your everyday watch I'd say go for something with more water resistance because that Orient is strictly for splashes of water during you washing your hand only kind of watch.

Hope that helps.

Edit: who told you the Orient open hearts have a saphire glass? If I remember correctly they're just mineral crystal.

@TalkingDugong I am going to wear this watch to my school, at home or if going out somewhere.

I do not see myself going swimming or diving with the watch on for sure... Just a q if it is exposed to water more than a splash like falling in a glass of water as an accident can it keep up

About the sapphire and mineral glass even I was confused at the start but there seems to be two variants of this exact same watch that have a mineral and a sapphire glass and the one I am looking forward to is the sapphire one as the scratch resistance is great.    THANKS FOR HELPING OUT♥️  and after my reply do you still recommend it to me?? Btw are there any other watches you would recommend me under 300$ coz I am waiting for some good sale to get my first analogue at a good price

It's a good watch and I fully recommend it as your first automatic watch. Especially if you're getting the model with the sapphire glass and 50WR.

For the water resistance I'd say getting splashed is fine but please try to avoid dropping one into a glass of water, or if you do, take it out as soon as you can. Here's a helpful water resistance chart.

Thx for the chart and actually it's my first analogue watch not just first automatic and do you have some other watch suggestions in mind?

·

What's your budget? If you're going for...let's $300 maximum, I'd recommend a Timex Marlin.

Image

100 meters water resistance under $300.

Do you want strictly an automatic watch or is any analogue watch fine with you? Because that would open up your choices considerably.

There's Timex, Hamilton quartzes, Seikos, Tissots and other options too.

Hold up, you need some more knowledgeable help here. Let's see... @Aurelian, my good man! Cruncher in need of assistance here! Yoohoo, mate!

·

Right...I forgot something. If you don't mind going for microbrands, try Marc Frankel from Long Island Watches and his microbrand, the Islander. They have some nice field watches around $200 - $300. I assume you're from the USA?

I am open to all sorts of analogue watches but the problem is I can't find the kind of watches i prefer here in India... I want a nice plain watch while the watches that are available are too messy i guess I don't know how to explain it I am just going to put pics

I mean i would prefer my watch to be clean and not have too many different things all at once

·

I could go for a watch 300$ but I won't be buying it rn coz it would be kinda expensive will wait for a good sale

·

Well just wait on that good deal buy something worth while that Orient is perfect worth while buy if not the Bambino open heart one is good buy with roman numbers. I have a Orient titanium quartz very happy and satisfied. Just take your time see your options and research.

I would recommend you to go for a brighter color dial here. With the silver hands like this, it is quite difficult to see in many light condition.

Also with the openheart, it might be good looking at first, but it will feel nothing in short period of time. It also disbalancing the dial a bit too.

However, make your choice and go for it. You will even more regret if you choose by someone else's recommendation 😉

What I had was some version of Open Heart Bambino - with Mineral glass

It was considered dark color dial for me which I think it is difficult to read. I believe this blue version will be difficult to read too. Sorry to be honest

I have a few dude. I believe what best on our wrists would be lug-to-lug not over 46mm and the tickness below 12.5 mm

What you pick is the right size though. I just feel that this type of hands are hard to see with some light condition. If you want to go with blue dial, try to find some watches that have lume hands

It should be a good fit dude, but I would rather pick something else. This watch is a homage to Rolex Submariner, and you would not want to stay in the same room with someone wearing Rolex.

Rather take something else that have its own style and make you proud of wearing them. 😉😉

Tbh I don't see anyone wearing a Rolex submariner around me as I am a student it fits right in the budget but thanks for your opinion

There are plenty of options there with Seiko, Orient, Citizen or Timex that will fit with your budget. The best way is to try them on your wrist and see which one fit you best

·

You simply can’t go wrong with Orient, fantastic value for money.

if you really  want an open heart though, shop around…… Seiko do them in their presage line up and they are a step up in quality.

I have this and its  sheer class.

Hi @WExxER!

I'm in the same situation as you were.😁

Have you bought it? If yes, what is your opinion about it?

Thx
