What Feature Didn’t You Know Your Watch Has?

Humans have great sense of smell. Gosh, even I can usually sniff out an Olive Garden from across town. But even as awesome as we think we can track that piping hot Zuppa Toscana, we still have nothing on dogs. Yeah…we’ve got six million scent receptors in our schnozes, but the average dog has 100 million.

But, when it comes to sniffing out cool watch stuff for us WC folk, we might as well be Blood Hounds!

That’s why I’m so flabbergasted I didn’t know that I can press the Indiglo button on my Ironman Shock, and then begin using other features via their own button presses with un-interrupted Indiglo assist. As long as I don’t pause operations longer than three seconds, the display will continue to glow while I use the chronograph, set the timer, or perform any other operation. Think of it — I could time an Olive Garden breadstick eating contest in a candle lit dining room with this feature! Not even any of my G-Shocks have this capability!

What watch do you own that you didn’t know had a feature that you now love to use and find quite indispensable?

I just figured out that I can basically geotag any given location with my G-SHOCK GWB5600 and it will save via Bluetooth indefinitely. Haven’t traveled since I added this one but maybe I’ll add my local Olive Garden.

Fantastic! The Pasta Fagioli will be hot and waiting for you.

My pleasure indeed!

For me it was the realization years ago that the rotating dive bezel can effectively be used as a second timezone with a little bit of mental work, but easy once you practice. It’s made me really appreciate 12 hour bezels, and especially bi-directional bezels.

One hidden feature of mine is that having bought it during daylight hours in a well lit room I find that in darker environments it is all but impossible to tell the time with the polished hands.

Kind of like buying a black car at night.
