Inexpensively Ornate. An Expression of Oxymoronic Sublimity!

A few days back, I awoke with an epiphany…to obtain the most ornate and inexpensive watch I could find. A few hours later, and $47.17 poorer, I had ordered my new Forsining Brand engraved automatic skeleton watch with 24 hour moon-phase complication!

Today’s arrival and hasty unboxing unveiled a really gorgeous timepiece! I had read the reviews ranging from praise to seething hatred. From stuck rotors and free-spinning second hands, to smooth operation and pleasing aesthetics. I took a chance. I had to…as a Watchcrunch representative of science and research.

I’m wearing this new ‘Hauteur de l'élégance’ for the next week to see if this new Forsining will prove its metal…or drop pieces of its metal onto the floor.

Show us your cheapest but fanciest watch you own and love.

Love it!  Fanciest cheapest!  Thanks for doing the research on this one.  For entertainment purposes, hopefully the skele - moon self immolates in a blaze of glory.

I don’t (yet) have a fancy cheap..  I guess my ancient seiko monster was cheap at around a $100 when I bought it but it’s not really sketchy enough for the category.

Wait, do the bezel rotate? The fact that this is a skeletor model or a two tone is so secondary.

I am kind of offended by those day/night displays though. I'm not sure who needs those and suspect they are solely there to mimic the actual moonphase aesthetic.

The bezel does indeed rotate…with quite a satisfying click I may add. The sun moon dial works nicely. Though it only assists the most sensory-deficient on the planet to know whether it’s day or night…it’s enjoyable to watch it slowly progress…like ‘the days of our lives.’

Yeah, it’s already really growing on me. All of the filigree relief engraving is actually quite beautiful to look at. And upon awakening this morning, the movement has remained as accurate as any of my other automatics.

I mean, yeah it’s for science! Definitely looks the part of cheap AND fancy and I’m interested to see how this turns out. The Sun/moon dial looks pretty cool.
