A nod to Saint Patrick’s Day. Which of your watches may keep you from getting pinched?

Since 1631 when a feast day was established by ‘the church’ for Saint Patrick, people all over the place (usually every 17th of March) have been wearing green to avoid getting pinched, avidly searching between their cushions and under their beds for four leaf clovers, drinking green food coloring-tainted beer, and hanging clover-colored tinsel on mantels, door frames…and on drunk people’s shoulders.

But what about a green-colored watch? Is this to be an important accessory for this oh-so obligatory day? Even though my genetic history is Swiss and Welsh, I still feel compelled to hang the tinsel and wear something green to keep myself from getting bruised by a pinch from some nut chasing me around the bread isle at Walmart.

Show us your green watch as a nod to Saint Patrick’s Day and all that may come of it for you?

hopefully this cold war relic will keep me from getting pinched! On the wrist today, 1990's vintage Vostok (didn't bother to fix the date though! LOL!)

If any watch may, it’s your vintage Vostok!

I forgot it was Mar 17, but I almost wore my Alpinist today by chance. But decided I wanted to have a dive bezel.

Your comment rings true in so many ways. The holiday had much more bearing as a kid when you’d get pinched mercilessly at recess if you weren’t wearing your green corduroy bell-bottoms.

Here's my only green dial at the moment. I do have a couple green dials in the parts bin and have built 4-5 for other people.

·

Yes, the zipping of green corduroy pants was a common sound when I was a kid, but by then they weren’t bell bottoms. They would likely be paired with a Michael Jackson style multi-zippered jacket and a transformer watch.

Third (and final?) watch change of the day. Heading out to Maggie's, my local Irish pub, for beer related festivities.

Victorinox Swiss Army Military Heritage Quartz Chronograph… but I wear green a lot.

I don't have a green watch, yet!

I could have worn the SARB017 Alpinist, but I didn't think to. I like the Alpinist, but I have to say it taught me I'm not too keen on green watches. They tend to clash with clothing, are hard to match with a strap, and in general don't look great on me.

It's definitely a watch that I pair with specific clothing. Good thing I'm into olive green and lots of neutral colors.

This is what I just remembered to grab before I left for work on Friday. I don't wear this one often as it seems more of sunny day or Spring kind of watch. I was sunny on Friday so was perfect.
