<300€ father´s day watch

Father´s day is approaching and I´m considering to gift a watch under 300€ or less (better).

Here I´m going to list all alternatives I´m considering. If you have more suggestions please comment!!! Take this as a list of affordable watches.

-Citizen Tsuyosa

-Citizen AT2460 ("navitimer")

-Seiko 5 SRPD and SRPJ

-Orient Mako II and Ray II

-Orient Kamasu

-Boldr Venture

-Seiko SNKL23

-Casio Edifice ef527 ("navitimer")

-Timex Q Chronograph

-San Martin 62MAS (He doesn´t mind the brand)

-Timex North Field Mechanical

-Steeldive SD1970

-Spinnaker Bradner

-Spinnaker Fleuss

-Lorus Titanium

-Timex Marlin

-Invicta Pro Diver

-Casio Marlin/Duro

-Citizen Promaster

In my case, He already has a swiss high end chrono and a Skagen (rubish) for a beater. That´s why I´m considering more divers.

I think the Timex Q Chrono hits the spot.

If you’d consider pre-owned I have a near mint Citizen Promaster in the original box.

·

What about one of the new Timex North Field Solar watches? They kind of balance between beater and casual.

·

You can’t go wrong with a seiko but these are all good options. Well done research!

·

You’ve already got my choice on the list. The Orient Kamasu. Best diver at it’s price point, not overly large like some other cheaper mechanical divers.

I bought my father a seiko 5 and he liked them very much. But it also depends on how your dad likes these brands. It would be best for him to unobtrusively scroll through the pictures of the watch, and he will probably like the ones he notices the most. 😉

Good idea!

Since he doesn't mind the brand the San Martin chrono version of their 62mas homage is currently on clearance sale for around $240. It has the mechanical Seagull movement and would place a chrono with diver good looks into his mix. I also appreciate that since Seiko never produced a 62 mas chrono it isn't a homage so much as it is perhaps a riff on a watch they should've made. I've handled San Martin watches and the finish and build quality far surpasses anything else at that price point. BTW I put my money where my mouth is and now have one on the way.

have a look at some of the mecha quartz or some automatic Dan Henry at this price, they look and feel like they are worth more. plus various styles and configurations to pick. i'd go for something like this at $290 https://danhenrywatches.com/products/1970-automatic-diver-watch which has a Seiko movement.

WOW! Love it! Didn´t know that Dan Henry makes an affordable diver like this.

They have the 1975 as well which has a more vintage style (IMO) but only quartz option for sub $300, the automatic is $450, which makes the 1970 automatic more appealing at $290. https://danhenrywatches.com/collections/vintage-watches/products/1975-skin-diver-watch?variant=39999501172818

I should consider It, didn´t know about it. You´re right, It´s not a 1/1 homage.

Please, consider making a review on WC when It arrives!!

Thanks, I appreciate it. But as a gift I would buy brand new.

Yes, I also love Islander. The problem is that living in Europe, customs may be over 80$. I´m not very familiarized with Phoibos but I´ve just seen it and It´s a good option too!!!!
