Moonswatch ‘Gold’

Fratello just released the new Moonswatch and thankfully it isn’t the Ferrero Rocher from the render but rather underwhelming nonetheless. Seems to be the normal Mission to Moon with I think a real Moonshine Gold covered seconds hand. Most likely impossible to get and I’m sure the hype initially will be crazy. Thoughts?

Thoughts? My mind is completely blank... And apparently it's produced during full moon in February 2023. What. The. Actual. F*ck...

That’s it ?

Does anybody fall for this shit anymore? It’s such a blatant and transparent cry for viral attention based on another overpriced piece of crap.

Considering we are all here on a watch forum… yes

I like the looks of it. Do I think it's worth the scratch they'll be asking for it? A big fat NO! 😀

Just bad humour:)

·

It looks kinda nice to be honest, since I already own an original speedy I’m not gonna buy it. But for the colourful ones, oh yesssssss

·

This is everything we needed and more, clearly. Why can't you all see this?

why the negativity? this is tasteful and basically a speedy tues release. its so extremely limited that there shouldn't be mile long cues with brawls.

this could've been garish, instead its just a tiny change to make it more limited.... a very Omega move.

What a bargain!

I’m sure people already pointed this out many many times but it’s the first time I’m seeing it so it’s new to me and I can’t unsee it.

Im going with this being a massive troll, of us, the media and other brands that change a bezel color and call it a new watch. I think it a sly dig at all of us and how we are going to oh and ah at some brand's watches and wonders releases in a few weeks.😎

I agree. I can't help shake the feeling that we're being mocked.

·

It always makes me chuckle when people get all bent out of shape over the MoonSwatch. It is just a fun watch to have, I have a Jupiter model myself. When I bought it I kind of knew it was not a moon watch, I knew it was a Swatch watch. I keep seeing the videos on youtube and see and hear the vitriol unleashed for all.

When I hear about how this watch and that watch is better for the money, they are missing the point IMHO. It is just a fun watch to have. I am glad I bought one. I put it on a nato strap and I am happy to wear it, when I look down at it it makes me smile, and yes, I know it is not my Speedmaster Moon watch, no confusion there. I don't think Swatch or Omega believe they are trying to pull the wool over anybodies eyes.

Now they have one that has a gold-plated

seconds hand. This should give all the haters lots of fodder to use. Have fun.

Yeah, checkout that FAQ...SWATCH are deliberately poking the bear.

All the pearl clutching Greta Thunberg "How dare you!" comments are hilarious. Unpopular opinion here from someone that doesn't even own a MoonSwatch but not everything is about the enthusiast community. Watchmakers from Seiko to Rolex have been largely ignoring the enthusiast community for decades though the occasional bone is thrown. The enthusiast community just isn't that important to everyone else and no amount of bitching will change that. As a successful business owner why would I give a crap that record breaking demand for my product didn't consist of every possible demographic? The folks shitting on Swatch quality conveniently ignore that there are decades of happy passionate Swatch collectors and also conveniently ignore that most naysayers were never going to be regular Swatch customers anyway yet are now bawling that they don't have front of the line access or yowl that Swatches aren't made like "real" watches. Self proclaimed watch experts sneered that this collab would be bad for Omega yet here we are with demand, profits and secondary market value all significantly up. Calling others "stupid" for how they spend their time or money is pretty ironic given the unessential nature of this man jewelry hobby in the first place. People are complaining that they're tired of the hype but how fatiguing is it to just scroll on by? In the buffet of content no one is being forced to consume any MoonSwatch material. Why waste so much of one's limited time here on this mortal coil to shit on a watch one has no intention of buying? Or shitting on the people who bought one? I do believe loyal brand customers should have access before flippers but how two consenting adults conduct a financial transaction is their business. If the MoonSwatch isn't for you that's cool but I was under the impression that folks positioning themselves as the gatekeepers of what's acceptable for others was a no go for our hobby. I thought our community evaluated the watch not the wearer but many are whipping out their outrage pass to smugly diss others. I've had some fun times waiting in lines for concerts, ski lifts and amusement parks where the festive atmosphere felt like an event in and of itself. Those experiences were worth it to me regardless of how it was viewed by others with no skin in the game. What's next? Telling me that last month's trip to Disneyland was stupid because of the hype, cost and long lines? Too late, I had a great time. If you did score a MoonSwatch and enjoyed both it and the experience kudos to you for buying what YOU wanted especially in light of how invested so many others are in convincing you that you've made a terrible mistake. It will always and forever be your wrist, your rules. Sorry gotta go now and order a pizza...with pineapple!

I bought a couple of moonswatches... they were fun but i gave them to my younger nephews. But this is trash from top to bottom... everything from the "Story" to the locations and availability is just trash. Please stop... the last batch didnt hurt Omegas credibility but this one does... just a marketing mistake from top to bottom.

·

Nope nope nope, not for me.

No plastic quartz watch, gold plated second hand or not. 🙄

It’s still a newsworthy story since Swatch group is an 800 gorilla of the industry and original was huge.

One more note: Didn’t they also release a few days b4 W&W last year to steal the thunder?! 🤔😮

I agree with everything you said except for the pizza with pineapple. There’s just a line man should not cross.

The watch? Meh, whatever. But I will rage about the glaring, inexplicable, unconscionable omission of New York. Financial center they say? Wall Street, hello? Did I hear gold? Do the 500,000 gold bars buried under the Federal Reserve in lower Manhattan, some 5,620 metric tons, the largest horde of monetary gold in the world, worth something like $333,000,000,000 at today's prices (if I didn't get my orders of magnitude off) count for nothing? And we don't get no stinking Moonshine Gold plastic Moonswatch? Swatch/Swatch Group/Omega, this oversight will not be forgiven.

Hardly an exuse. London has more Swatch stores than New York's five. And I believe these were only available at one.

Good God ferrero rocher 😂 thats Gold!

Its pedestrian but knowing how unreliable the moonswatch is, i wont be rushing for one

·

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Produced during a full moon, huh? What else? Made over dead water in pale moonlight, with some blood of a bat and virgin's tears? And some incantations, I presume?

This is some next-level load of bollocks. Granted, when I saw the "teasers" posted by Omega via their Insta, I kind of expected something like that. I mean, at least something quite as lame as that.

So, it's a plastic toy with a tiny bit of a thin layer of gold on the plastic hand that's as plastic as the rest of the plastic toy. Next patient, please.
