Brew Gold Metric Chrono - Thoughts?

Just seen this pop into my inbox and I was surprised how relatively thin it is for a chrono. Sounds like a good deal in capturing the current 70s gold watch hype!

I love the look of this.  It channels that old Oysterquartz day date and VC 222 energy  really well without being a direct homage.

Love the 222 and I agree it invokes that for barely even a fraction of the price

Compared to the 222, the Brew Metric-Gold price is a rounding error. 😜

Not a fan of the gold and black. Hope its not the new colors to take off.. but great watch.

It's an attractive watch and I'm a strong proponent of mecaquartz movements, but two issues would prevent me from buying this.

The first is my concern over the robustness of the gold plating or layering on the bracelet. It's not difficult to find bracelets on older watches that look terrible because the gold has flaked off. This is not really a concen with the case at it's one solid object and is not rubbing against other pieces of metal.

My second issue is the price. While I have little doubt it Brew will find continued success with this watch, I find $475 USD a little steep for a watch with the VK64 movement. It's a great movement, but can be found on watches costing hundreds less. If the watch was offered between $350 and $400 USD, this issue would be moot, but it's nearing the $500 mark.

Brew makes cool looking watches.

I been waiting for the Brew Metric for a year. Last time they had it in stock only for 1 day. I didn’t pull the trigger because I was still deciding between the black dial and the white dial. Today I got an email newsletter from Brew. Saw the gold/black-dial and ordered it right away. I think it looks amazing.

It looks very cool. I love the way the Metric wears. Thumbs up here!

I don't wear gold, but if I did, I'd be all over this.

I feel like, for me, this would be one of those watches that I may look at & be on the fence about only to feel completely different when its on the wrist. (In a good way) Hopefully I'll run into one in the flesh sooner or later.
