One watch brand for the rest of your life

1: Money no object, Rolex

2: Realistically, Longines (optimistically) or Hamilton

Seiko- including all umbrella brands

·
  1.  Money no object- Omega, they make enough variety that I could always find something interesting.
  2.  Realistically- Christopher Ward, great watches at a reasonable price, with enough variety to be interesting.
·

+1 for Rolex!

·

Hamilton and longines for mechanicals. For Quartz, citizen for sure (ecodrive) lasts a lifetime

·
  1. JLC - love just about everything they do. They haven't produced a watch I couldn't see myself buying with unlimited funds.
  2.  Omega - Love just about everything they do as well. Believe it or not, the Speedmaster is my least favorite watch by this brand, but I still think it's attractive and worth every penny. I already own an Aqua Terra and I lust after the Seamaster 300M, Seamaster Planet Ocean, and Constellation. I even like a lot of the Deville line. I could easily wear only this brand and be completely content no matter what the situation.
  3. Oris (honorable mention) - Love the Aquis, already have a Big Crown Pointer Date, and think a lot of the Artillier line is just fantastic.
·

1 glashutte original . 2 Hamilton or longines.

·
  1. JLC
  2. Omega

VC if I could afford it

·
  1. Vertex (old including ATP and Dirty Dozen, and new relaunch with each model). I would buy the lot.
  2. Gruen or Cyma (at the moment)

Seiko.

·

Seiko

Just take a look at their wide range of offerings, and all of them are fully in-house!

From Seiko 5 to Prospex, from Presage to Grand Seiko, and if you are lucky enough: Credor.

·

Realistically: Casio

Unlimited money: Casio

Hotel: Trivago

·

Rolex if money was no object, everything else doesn't quite ring the bell.

·

Damn thats a tough ask 🤔

Well money no object id have to say zero, a watch is for wearing not being stuck in a winder or in a safe and to be honest wouldn't pay the prices Rolex etc charge.

Now can't make my mind up so

Fortis or seiko.

·

I'm new to collecting and since I only own one of these brands it would be Hamilton! If money were no object it would not be Rolex!..Omega perhaps?

·

If I had to start from scratch, and had the right funds, I'd go all Longines:

-HydroConquest 41mm (ceramic bezel)

-Heritage Conquest 35mm (black dial)

-1832 Moonphase

-Avigation BigEye

-Spirit Zulu Time (green and gilt) in addition to the basic 40mm Spirit that I have

Note that "from scratch" means exactly that, and that won't happen. I have a number of watches that I wouldn't let go in the name of being a one-brand guy.

·

IF money is no object and I have tons of them.... (lotto ticket 🤞) Definitely it will be my grail watch Patek ❤️😘

Pushing wife to the limit, Maybe Breitling new Navitimer or JLC reverso

Depend of wife mood, maybe some Seikos or Chinese higher end scanner machines.

I guess if it's independence day and sign on divorce paper, it will be Richard Mille 😭

Money no object: #patekphilippe
Realistic: #omega or #rolex

·

Money no object: Patek
Realistic: Seiko

Both were chosen because they have enough variety in their stable that I wouldn't feel like I can't find a watch in a style I wanted. There are plenty of brands which I like but most of them speak their own signature design language and I need variety.

I couldn't have put it better myself. Both amazing brands with loads of variety to suit most watch collectors.

I think you guys are thinking way too small with the "money no object" option. When money is no object, you can go to a world-renowned watchmaker, hand them 5-6 million, and they will make you whatever you want.

Hell, give them 20 million. I mean money is no object right? :)

·

Powerball Jackpot: AP

After a promotion: Rolex

Right now: Omega or Tudor

On a budget: Oris or Seiko

Not allowing a G Shock would be the hardest compromise in any of these options.

I was tempted to put Patek/JLC as my money no object but I don't like enough of their designs, I like almost every Rolex so I could have anything and be satisfied

·

Seiko if Grand Seiko is included.

·

Vintage Seiko. Why? The variety of style, technology, usage and price.

·

Money no Object: Credor Eichi II, GS Constant Force Tourbillion, Platinum DayDate

Realistically (if I save up for the next 5-10years): Seiko MM 300, GS SBGR 051, Snowflake, or Nomos Metro 35.

Today's budget: Islander Datejust Linen Dial,  Vintage Hi-Beat Seiko

Honorable Mention: Seiko Landmaster Sagarmatha (as a Nepalese, I got to have it)

·

I’ll jump on the Seiko/Grand Seiko bandwagon, but that’s kind of cheating, since no other brand has as broad a range of genres, styles, and price points. I own one for <$100 and one for several thousand. It’s like saying “I choose Swatch Group.”

·

IWC in both cases

·

Richard Mille/A. Lange & Söhne/Patek Philippe

·

I don’t have more than one watch per brand in my collection. Too many good brands out there to focus on and having to choose only one
