This is why I like WatchCrunch better.

This is pretty common behavior at WatchUSeek. And I've seen much worse.聽

It is troll city over there on WUS. They can have it!聽

if we can look it up ourself then why are we join any forum 馃槀馃槀

I've been a WUS member for a long time, I dont partipate much at all.

The best thing to do with the trolls is to ignore them.

I love the bandwidth police that love to point out that there are other posts and you need to use the search function. 聽If I wanted to bump a thread from 2012 I would have.聽

Yes I always do. No point in arguing.

I guess the Socratic method doesn't work for everyone.

Im a longtime member of WUS and there are plusess and minuses for sure...Many great educated watch people.BUT also trolls and cliques . Also members who like to jump all over a newbie . also they tend to jump all over anybody that complains about a seller or a retailer.. It seems there are more sellers than buyers if you get my drift.聽

I use it occasionally to look for information about long dead brands. I don't interact much. I don't think that I have commented over there in more than a year.

Why would I use the internet when I have the WatchCrunch hive mind?馃槈

I am not immune to the sentiment. 聽Sometimes a topic has been covered many times before....though there are more polite ways to reference them and I find more iterations tends to add perspective and reference points.

  • Well.. since you brought it up. I didn't want to have to mention their name but I was lurking on that site now and then for about a year. And now that I'm retired I decided to become a little more active in the discussions as I have more time on my hands. I even sent them $20 to become a premium member figuring I can afford it and if it helps out the site what the hell. They have this rule that before you can buy or sell watches on their site you have to have at least 100 posts. I was immediately bombarded with accusations that the only reason I was there was to sell watches. I was very polite in my responses in the open forum but in a private message to a real jerk I was more direct. This led to me being admonished and giving some type of silly demerit or whatever by one of the admins. I tried to explain to them that I had no desire to sell anything on their site as I am well established on eBay and chrono24 with a 100% rating. The abuse continued and in less than a week I emailed the powers that be terminated my registration and demanded my money back which they gave to me immediately. I'm not sure what the major malfunction is but there are some real @#&拢垄鈧モ垎 over there.聽

Wow.

I had the same complaint. Though I didn't realize what they were implying until now.

On one of my posts some guy said "here's the 47th post by this guy" (it definitely wasn't my 47th - I was only really using the site for a week or two) and I had several other similar comments.聽

I have no intention of selling watches there. I own 4 watches and only one of them is listed for sale - on Facebook marketplace. A 30 dollar Casio.

Other rude comments didn't seem to be related to this. One guy randomly called me an incel. Lol.

This is the exact reason I left WUS after I was told I should probably find another forum for my questions. 聽

So I did!

And I love y'all here.....!!!!!

Okay I'll bite.. what is an incel?

The thing that gets me is, 聽and one of the jerks came right out and said it to me, that they believe if you obtain enough posts quickly just to sell watches.. which is the requirement to sell watches.. that somehow that must mean you're going to sell them fraudulently. And if they think that you're posting just to be able to sell wrist watches they reserve the right to kick you off the site. It seems to be circular reasoning in as much as apparently they have some mechanism to combat fraudulent sellers and if they don't then who the hell would want to buy watches on that site. The reasoning is specious and illogical and I suspect there are some other agendas afoot. Or they can just be a bunch of flaming butt jams. Hell I don't know but at any rate I knew I had had enough and couldn't get out of there fast enough and insisted on getting my money back. I don't think I made any friends when I pointedly told the one jerk in the private message who apparently related publicly in the forum that if he ever accused me of anything fraudulent I would sue him and subpoena the administration of the site to disclose his real identity in order to do so. And barring that I would directly sue the owners of the site instead.

Forums, being a place to gather information, generate discussion, and possibly making it easier for future users around the internet to search on said topic...

Just to be told to Google it 馃う

incel means involuntary celibate. it is a terms to call someone who try to hard to got a girlfriend but fail, incel got some community at reddit too. its a toxic group from my understanding, few of thems commit serious crime too involving murder. thats rude to call someone an incel 馃槄
