Printed dials look cheap? No?

This place also has fake Rolexes that are almost passable except they glued the magnifier all wonky ๐Ÿ˜‚. But I'm just talking about the design, not the authentititty.ย

I mean even some $30 casios have applied indices. I would just think that you'd get at least that much detail when you spend 150 times that price.ย

No offense intended. I don't hate Cartier. Not at all. I only hate people who wear them.ย

My friend told me the same about my laco. But if it is done right i think its okay, depends on the design.ย

Printed indices are important to limit the case thickness. Thatโ€™s why you see this design style on dress watches. I do prefer applied indices, but I also prefer dive watches, and they tend to go hand in hand.ย

I dunno. I mean you can apply indices that are a third of a millimeter and they would still look so much better and make no real difference to the watch thickness.ย

For example Citizen's 3mm thick "world's thinnest solar" has applied indices.ย

I personally prefer printed dials to applied.

On an inexpensive field watch a printed dial looks great to me. Printed dials look good on some pieces. ย  IMO what we are really getting at is Cartier the jewelry company that sells a shit ton of expensive watches with printed dials. Cartier is an industry leader in watch sales revenue numbers. These folks know jewelry So------o they make some decent cases that catch the eye. Also, Cartier lives off of an old storied history of making tank watches. If Omega beats the dead horse of NASA and the Speedie & Rolex spin stales of mountains climbed & channels swam, then Cartier ย aint far behind with the tank watch. I believe Cartier gets away with subpar movements, cheap quartz movements bested by many, junk straps (unless you spend 20K), no durability, ย and ย zero specs. Don't let a spec of water hit the case of your Cartier tank Yikes! I don't hate Cartier watches, or the people that wear them. I think that some of their watches are cool. I just won't pay over 10K for a tiny triangle of gold with a dial printed in China & a little blue sapphire chip glued to the end of the crown.ย
